Silversea to Return to Alaska With 29 Voyages in 2027
The season also marked Silversea’s first use of Seward’s Dale R. and Carol Ann Lindsey Alaska Railroad Terminal, which opened in June 2026 with shore power capability.
Silversea completed 30 Alaska voyages aboard Silver Moon and Silver Whisper from May 14 through Sept. 3, concluding a 2026 season built around Vancouver, British Columbia, and Seward, Alaska. The two ships called at 14 destinations, ranging from Juneau and Skagway to Metlakatla and Klawock.
The line will return with the same vessels for 29 voyages between May 27 and early September 2027. Selected departures will add scenic cruising in Tracy Arm and at Sawyer Glacier, while Hubbard Glacier and Icy Bay remain in the program.
The 2026 season combined port calls with glacier viewing and shore activities that included kayaking in Sitka Sound and a private railcar journey to the White Pass summit. Guests also sailed past Hubbard Glacier.
Silversea President Bert Hernandez credited “our intimate ships giving guests access to even the most hidden corners of the region.”
New Seward terminal enters service
The season included Silversea’s first operations through the Dale R. and Carol Ann Lindsey Alaska Railroad Terminal, which opened in Seward in June 2026. The facility has a floating pier with shore power capability and direct access to the Alaska Railroad, linking cross-gulf cruises with pre- and post-voyage rail travel. Its berth can handle two large ships simultaneously.
The Alaska Railroad developed the facility with Royal Caribbean Group, The Seward Company and Turnagain Marine Construction. Royal Caribbean Group is Silversea’s parent company.
Silversea sets 2027 Alaska schedule
Two seven-night Silver Moon itineraries illustrate the next season’s northbound and southbound programs. A June 3 departure from Seward will travel through the Inside Passage to Vancouver, calling at Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway before arriving June 10.
The reverse itinerary departs Vancouver on Aug. 19 and reaches Seward on Aug. 26. Its schedule includes Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Sitka, along with viewing at Hubbard Glacier and Tracy Arm.
“As we look to our 2027 voyage offering, we remain committed to delivering unforgettable experiences throughout this remarkable region,” Hernandez said.
The 2027 shore program is scheduled to include a Taku Lodge salmon meal paired with flightseeing over five glaciers from Juneau, sportfishing in Ketchikan and rafting through Keystone Canyon near Valdez.
