Silversea Adds Mediterranean Expeditions to 2028-29 Lineup

Silver Wind’s new Mediterranean expedition series includes Greek Isles calls such as Milos and Folegandros, calls in Algeria and a Guadalquivir River cruise to Sevilla.

Silversea has unveiled its 2028-29 voyage collection, with 278 departures scheduled from March 2028 through March 2029 and general sales opening July 9, 2026. The program spans 497 destinations in 71 countries and adds more than 120 new or returning ports, including what the company described as its most extensive Mediterranean expedition offering.

The launch combines expedition and classic itineraries across multiple regions. Silversea did not list starting fares.

Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea, said the new collection is about taking guests “beyond the expected” to “destinations and cultural moments” across the program.

The 2028-29 collection uses both expedition ships and classic vessels in Silversea’s 13-ship fleet, which ranges from 100 to 728 guests. Named deployments include the 274-guest Silver Wind for a new Mediterranean expedition series, the 200-guest Silver Endeavour in the Baltic, the 596-guest Silver Dawn for the 60-day Grand Mediterranean sailing, and the 728-guest Silver Nova and Silver Ray for Mediterranean and Northern Europe programs.

Silver Wind adds Mediterranean expedition calls

The Mediterranean expedition voyages aboard Silver Wind will include calls in the Greek Isles at Milos, Amorgos and Folegandros, along with Algiers and Bejaia in Algeria. The ship will also visit Pantelleria off Sicily and cruise the Guadalquivir River to Sevilla.

The broader expedition program also covers the Arctic, Greenland, Antarctica, the British Isles, Polynesia, the Galapagos and other remote regions. Silver Endeavour will introduce a Baltic expedition program focused on Finland and Sweden.

Antarctica program includes fly-cruise departures

Silversea’s Antarctica schedule includes 41 voyages, with dedicated Christmas and New Year’s Eve departures. Silver Cloud, Silver Endeavour and Silver Wind will operate the program.

The fly-cruise voyages begin in Patagonia with a stay at The Cormorant at 55 South, followed by a private charter flight into Antarctica. The format is part of an expanded Antarctica Fly Cruise program in the new collection.

Classic voyages focus on Europe and seasonal events

Silversea’s 2028 Classic Voyages are timed around events and seasonal periods including the Monaco Grand Prix, Japan’s matsuri cultural festivals and grape harvest season along Europe’s Atlantic coast. The classic program includes direct calls at Sete, Monopoli and Saint-Tropez, with extended stays and overnight calls in selected ports.

Five ships are assigned to the classic season: Silver Ray, Silver Nova, Silver Dawn, Silver Spirit and Silver Shadow. Silver Nova will sail its first Northern Europe season, with itineraries visiting Norway’s Heritage Fjords, including Geiranger and Flam, as well as Baltic voyages featuring Sweden and Finland.

Silver Ray will operate the dedicated Monaco Grand Prix sailing and Eastern Mediterranean itineraries that include the Adriatic and Greek Isles.

Grand Mediterranean Voyage and land programs

Silver Dawn will host the Grand Mediterranean Voyage 2028, an autumn sailing visiting more than 40 destinations across Greece, Croatia, Italy, the Adriatic and the Iberian Peninsula. The itinerary includes Istanbul, Dubrovnik and Amalfi, as well as Menton in France, Naxos in the Greek Isles and Roses on the Catalan coast.

Guests on the Grand Mediterranean sailing will have access to events including a private evening on Yiasemi Street in Athens and a Papal experience in Rome during an overnight call in October 2028.

Silversea also plans new S.A.L.T. experiences in Japan and the Caribbean, extending its Sea And Land Taste program of destination-linked dining, drinks, cooking classes and land programs. The land program slate includes a three-night Finland stay centered on sauna culture and food traditions, along with a three-night private-island resort stay in the Seychelles for guests sailing from Mahe.
