Seabourn Opens Bookings for 2028 Ruby Collection
The Cape to Cape world cruise departs January 7, 2028, on Seabourn Quest, covering fifty-eight destinations with an eighteen-person expedition team.
Seabourn has opened bookings for The Ruby Collection, a 54-voyage 2028 program built around the line’s 40th anniversary and scheduled across its five-ship fleet. The sailings range from seven-day Caribbean and Mediterranean yacht-harbor itineraries to a 120-day world cruise and a 96-day Arctic-to-Antarctica expedition.
The collection spans the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Southeast Asia, Japan, Alaska, Canada and New England, Northern Europe, the Arctic, the Canadian Maritimes, South America and Antarctica. The anniversary dates to Seabourn Pride’s entry into service in 1988, and Seabourn said each voyage will carry added onboard anniversary programming.
World cruise and expedition sailings anchor the lineup
The centerpiece is the 120-day Cape to Cape world cruise, departing Jan. 7, 2028, aboard the 450-guest Seabourn Quest. The itinerary covers more than 26,000 nautical miles and 58 destinations in 23 countries across five continents, including Antarctica, Easter Island, the Falkland Islands and Cape Town.
The world cruise begins with a Panama Canal transit, a reference to Seabourn’s first sailing. A 112-day Miami-to-Lisbon option is also available, and Seabourn will add expedition-style experiences to a world cruise for the first time, supported by an 18-person expedition team.
Seabourn Venture, the line’s 264-guest expedition ship, is scheduled for a 96-day Grand Expedition departing Aug. 16, 2028, from the Arctic to Antarctica. The voyage spans more than 20,500 nautical miles and 147 degrees of latitude, with expedition landings across 14 countries and territories, including five days in Antarctica and three days each in South Georgia and the Falkland Islands. An 82-day Arctic-to-Antarctica option departs Aug. 30, 2028.
Yacht-harbor sailings return to the line’s origins
The Yachtsman Collection draws on the small-ship concept behind The Yachts of Seabourn, concentrating on smaller Mediterranean and Caribbean ports with extended time ashore. The itineraries include Bequia, Martinique and the British Virgin Islands, along with an overnight in Portofino and time on Patmos for visits to the Monastery of St. John.
In the Caribbean, the 600-guest Seabourn Ovation will operate seven- to 14-day voyages between St. Maarten and Barbados, including itineraries through Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. Two New Year’s itineraries are scheduled to bring Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Quest together at Carambola Beach, St. Kitts, for a New Year’s Day Caviar in the Surf event.
In the Mediterranean, Seabourn Ovation will sail seven-day yacht-harbor itineraries across the Aegean Sea, the Côte d’Azur, the Dalmatian Coast and the islands of Sardinia and Corsica. Those sailings include Seabourn’s Marina Day watersports program.
New calls include Taiwan, Alaska, the Faroes and Ireland
Seabourn Encore will operate Southeast Asia and Japan itineraries with overnights in Shanghai, Osaka and Kobe, plus new Taiwan calls at Taichung and Tainan. One voyage is timed to the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival following a visit to Shifen, and Shopping with the Chef excursions are planned in Japanese ports from Nagasaki to Kagoshima.
Seabourn Encore also returns to Alaska with maiden calls at Petersburg, Valdez and the Chiswell Islands. The Alaska program includes an eight-day pre-cruise Denali option combining rail travel into Denali National Park, a flightseeing excursion and a farewell dinner in Juneau.
On Seabourn Quest, the Canada and New England program includes a return to Red Bay, Canada, an overnight at St. John’s, Newfoundland, and scenic cruising on the St. Lawrence River. Farther north, Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit will operate expedition itineraries that include a round-trip Reykjavik voyage with six days in Svalbard and capacity limited to 199 passengers.
The northern program also adds expedition calls linking Iceland and the British Isles, including maiden calls at Tvøroyri in the Faroe Islands and Cape Clear Island in Ireland. Other expedition routes trace Greenland’s coast to Nanortalik and continue to the Torngat Mountains and Labrador.
In South America and Antarctica, Seabourn’s expedition itineraries combine Antarctica with the Juan Fernandez Islands and Chilean Fjords, or with the Falklands, South Georgia and Brazil. A 34-day voyage crosses the Atlantic with calls at Port Stanley, South Georgia, St. Helena and Tristan da Cunha.
The Atlantic sailing extends Seabourn Conversations
The 2028 program also includes a 12-day sailing with The Atlantic, inspired by the publisher’s annual Atlantic Festival and placed within Seabourn Conversations, the line’s included enrichment program built around guest access to writers, scholars and other experts. The Atlantic partnership is a three-year arrangement beginning in 2026, with events curated around subjects including culture, business, science and health.
Seabourn did not list starting fares with the collection details. The Atlantic: A Seabourn Conversations Exclusive is scheduled to depart Oct. 4, 2028, aboard Seabourn Quest from Montreal to Boston.
