Scenic Opens Advisor Access for 2028 Europe River Cruises

Scenic Group has opened early access to its 2028 Europe river cruise season, giving travel advisors departure dates and suite categories before the general release. The program includes a revised French river itinerary, four updated extension choices, expanded land tours and new city-stay combinations.

Spectacular South of France will operate between Lyon and Tarascon in either direction and travel farther upstream to Chalon-sur-Saône.

“For 2028, we’ve reimagined some of our most popular river and land itineraries to provide longer stays, new destination pairings and expanded extension options,” said Elisabeth Sadler, vice president of river cruising at Scenic Group.

French itinerary adds more time in port

The revised Spectacular South of France itinerary will include six overnight port stays and two late departures. Its extended route to Chalon-sur-Saône adds access to riverside towns in Burgundy.

Scenic will continue to include its Enrich cultural events and Freechoice activities in the 2028 season, among them guided e-bike tours, wine tastings, cooking classes and market visits.

Extensions cover the Riviera, Loire Valley, Brittany and Munich

A four-day French Riviera extension will include a stay at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo and can be added before or after Rhône and Saône itineraries.

The five-day Grand Castles of the Loire program will connect with Seine and Bordeaux cruises. Its itinerary includes the gardens at Château de Villandry, the Royal Château de Blois, Château de Chenonceau, Château de Chambord and Château du Clos Lucé in Amboise.

Scenic is also adding a four-day Brittany extension to Seine itineraries, covering the region’s coastline and Celtic heritage. A three-day Munich stay will be available with selected Gems of the Danube departures and will include time in the city, surrounding old towns and destinations associated with Bavarian culture.

Land programs gain new stops and cruise connections

The 2028 Majestic Britain & Ireland land itinerary will provide additional time in Galway, two nights in Donegal and a visit to Giant’s Causeway.

Iconic Switzerland will operate as a 13-day land journey. The program includes a stay at Kempinski Palace Engelberg near Mount Titlis, two nights in St. Moritz, full-day journeys aboard the Glacier Express and Bernina Express, and a new overnight stop in Montreux on Lake Geneva.

Scenic’s Eastern Europe Explorer program will connect with selected departures of the eight-day Gems of the Danube cruise. The company is also introducing city stays in Budapest, Amsterdam, Paris and Vienna that can be combined with river itineraries.

The announcement did not include fares or specify when the 2028 season will move from early access to general release.
