Scenic Ikon Anchors 2028-29 Worldwide Voyages Program
Scenic Ikon's first season is planned through March 2029, covering 110 ports, 21 countries and 26 new destinations from the Mediterranean to Chilean fjords.
Scenic has released a 2028-29 Worldwide Voyages program spanning all seven continents, more than 100 countries and more than 600 ports of call. The season brings Scenic Ikon into service in April 2028 alongside Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II, giving the brand a three-ship Discovery Yacht deployment.
The deployment expands Scenic's ocean program at the same time Scenic Eclipse II returns to Australia, the Kimberley, Asia, the South Pacific and East Antarctica. Tom Batchelor, Scenic's vice president of deployment, product and port operations for ocean, said the collection gives guests "more choice, more destinations" and called Scenic Ikon "the next evolution of our Scenic Discovery Yacht fleet."
Scenic Ikon anchors the new deployment
Scenic Ikon is planned as a 26,500-GT, 205-meter ship carrying 270 guests in 135 suites. The vessel is scheduled to launch in April 2028 with two helicopters and a submersible, and its inaugural season is planned to run through March 2029.
That first Scenic Ikon program covers 110 ports, 21 countries and 26 new destinations, including the Mediterranean, Aegean, Egypt, the Cape Verde Islands, Dakar, Antarctica, the Falkland Islands and the Chilean fjords. Several early departures in the Mediterranean, Aegean, Adriatic and Antarctica have already sold out, Scenic said.
Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II remain the existing Discovery Yacht pair in the program. Scenic Eclipse II's extended 2028 program is scheduled to sail from Tahiti through the South Pacific to Australia's Kimberley coastline, continue across the Top End to Hobart, then operate onward to New Zealand and East Antarctica's Ross Sea before returning through Indonesia's Spice Islands toward Northeast Asia.
Featured voyages and included benefits
The program includes an 11-day Andaman Passage voyage from Singapore to the Malay Coast, with calls and excursions tied to Penang, Langkawi and Phuket, including Big Buddha and Wat Chalong Temple. Other featured sailings include a 19-day Amsterdam-to-Bergen itinerary through the Kiel Canal, Denmark and the Norwegian fjords; a 13-day Iceland-to-Greenland voyage guided by a Discovery Team of up to 20 specialists; and an 11-day Kimberley Coastline expedition.
Scenic Discovery and Scenic Freechoice excursions are included as standard across the program. Eligible Super Earlybird bookings add helicopter flightseeing, with 20-minute flights on select Scenic Ikon and Scenic Eclipse voyages and 30-minute flights in Antarctica.
Guests in top suite categories receive additional benefits on selected sailings, including a private jet upgrade between Buenos Aires and Ushuaia for Antarctic Peninsula voyages. Selected Europe and Americas departures also include private chauffeur airport transfers and a private excursion chosen by the guest, while Penthouse Suite guests receive a helicopter landing experience and a private excursion on select voyages.
Broader Scenic Group buildout
The 2028-29 program sits within a wider Scenic Group expansion that includes nine new ships across its Scenic and Emerald brands through 2028. Emerald Kaia entered service in April 2026, Emerald Astra is scheduled to follow in May, and the 2027 additions include Emerald Lumi, Emerald Nova, Emerald Raiya and Scenic Aria on the Douro.
In 2028, Scenic Group plans to add Scenic Spirit II on the Mekong, Scenic Ikon and Emerald Xara. Emerald Xara is planned to operate 14 itineraries across Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia's Raja Ampat islands before sailing south to Darwin and the Kimberley coastline, becoming the first Emerald Cruises yacht assigned to Asia and Australia.
Scenic also released an Expeditions Voyages & Land Journeys brochure covering Antarctica and Arctic cruises with land extensions in South America, Greenland, Iceland and Northern Europe. Scenic Ikon's inaugural season is available to book, while 2028-29 voyages for Scenic Eclipse II and Emerald Xara are open for pre-registration.
Scenic Eclipse II is scheduled back in the Kimberley, Oceania and East Antarctica from March 2028. Scenic Ikon enters service a month later.
