Scenic Group Names Cairo, Shrem to U.S. and Latin America Sales Roles

Cairo brings more than 30 years in sales leadership, most recently at Classic Vacations, while Shrem joins from Royal Caribbean’s national accounts department.

Scenic Group has appointed Marilyn Cairo as vice president of sales and trade relations and Nicole Shrem as key and national accounts manager for its U.S. and Latin America sales organization. Cairo will oversee regional sales strategy, while Shrem will focus on key trade and national account partners.

Cairo to oversee regional sales strategy

Cairo reports to Ken Muskat, president of Scenic Group USA and Latin America. Her responsibilities include leading the regional sales organization and expanding relationships with travel advisors, host agencies, consortia and other trade partners.

She brings more than 30 years of sales leadership experience and most recently served as vice president of sales at Classic Vacations. There, she directed sales strategy across several distribution channels and worked with host agencies, consortia and travel advisors.

Cairo previously held executive positions with Sandals & Beaches Resorts, Karisma Hotels & Resorts, Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts and Margaritaville Island Reserve Resorts.

“Travel advisors are at the heart of our business,” Cairo said. She added that she plans to work with Scenic’s sales team to identify further investment in trade relationships and business opportunities.

“As we continue to grow our presence across the U.S. and Latin America, investing in exceptional sales talent and strengthening our relationships with the travel advisor community remain critical priorities,” Muskat said.

Shrem takes key and national accounts role

Shrem joins Scenic from Royal Caribbean International’s national accounts department, where she was an account executive working with key trade partners. She reports to Kayla Corbett, senior director of key and national accounts.

Her remit covers relationships with key and national account partners and sales support for Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises & Tours throughout the United States and Latin America.

Scenic did not specify effective dates for either appointment.

The group’s ship roster includes Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II, with Scenic Ikon upcoming. Cairo described the planned addition of ships and destinations as “the largest expansion” in Scenic Group’s 40-year history.
