Scenic Eclipse Yachts Berth Bow-to-Bow in Seville
Passengers disembarked near Seville’s historic core after sailing the Guadalquivir estuary, with Delicias offering city-center berths and links to taxi, bus and tram service.
Seville Cruise Port handled a bow-to-bow berthing of Scenic Eclipse I and Scenic Eclipse II at Muelle de las Delicias on May 9 and 10, bringing the two Scenic yachts alongside each other during a 2026 season scheduled for nearly 90 calls. The operation took place as Global Ports Holding Limited and Ocean Platform Marinas begin work under a 25-year concession that includes a €5 million investment plan for Seville’s cruise and megayacht facilities.
Both ships berthed in the city center, with cruise passengers disembarking near the historic core after sailing the Guadalquivir estuary. The season began in February with Azamara Journey and is now building around both cruise and large-yacht traffic.
Scenic yachts berth together at Delicias Wharf
Beatrice Rasmini, general manager of Seville Cruise Port, welcomed the twin call. “Seeing both Scenic Eclipse yachts docked together in Seville is a proud moment for our team and a clear indicator of the port’s potential,” Rasmini said. “This operation demonstrates our ability to handle complex, high-profile calls while providing the personalized, high-quality service that ultra-luxury lines expect.”
Fleet Captain Erwan Le Rouzic called the dual berthing “a proud and symbolic moment for Scenic” and thanked the Port of Seville for supporting the call. “Sharing this occasion in such a beautiful and historic destination makes it especially meaningful for our guests and crew,” he said.
Scenic Eclipse, launched in 2019, is a 551-foot, 228-guest discovery yacht with 114 all-veranda suites. Its onboard equipment includes helicopters, a submersible and zodiacs.
Concession plan shifts future cruise operations
GPH and OPM were awarded the Seville Cruise Port concession late last year. The agreement covers 5,100 square meters at Delicias Wharf, including the current cruise terminal, adjacent esplanades and berthing line, as well as 1,548 square meters at Tablada Wharf for a new cruise terminal within the Port Urban District.
The operators plan to spend €5 million on the Tablada terminal, service upgrades for cruise ships and megayachts, and stronger links between the port and the city. Seville Cruise Port’s current Delicias facilities provide passenger handling, security, customs and immigration, waste reception and logistical coordination, with nearby taxi, VTC, airport bus and tram access.
Francesc Grau, GPH’s regional director for West Med, said Seville and Ferrol represent “two highly distinctive opportunities” in the company’s regional portfolio, with investment plans tailored to each destination. Rafael Carmona, president of the Port Authority of Seville, said Seville offers cruise ships and megayachts berthing “right in the heart of Seville” along with the river approach through the Guadalquivir estuary.
Under the concession, Tablada will be developed as the future cruise terminal site. Once cruise activity moves there, Delicias Wharf is expected to take on a dedicated role for large yachts.
