Royal Caribbean Launches Two-Ship Australian Summer Season

Selected Brisbane and Sydney departures will feature The Wiggly Friends, with character appearances, live concerts, interactive activities and jointly branded merchandise.

Royal Caribbean International has opened its two-ship Australian summer season. Quantum of the Seas has returned to Brisbane for its fourth summer in Australia, and Anthem of the Seas is scheduled to arrive in Sydney on October 30.

The deployment comprises 28 round-trip cruises from Brisbane and 21 from Sydney, covering destinations in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Voyages range from short weekend departures to 11-night itineraries.

Quantum arrived after a trans-Pacific crossing from Los Angeles, while Anthem is sailing to Australia from Honolulu.

“With more short getaways and weekend departures, this season makes it easier than ever to escape,” said Gavin Smith, Royal Caribbean’s vice president and managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

Brisbane and Sydney itineraries

Quantum’s Brisbane schedule includes three-night weekend cruises and seven- to eight-night South Pacific voyages. Noumea, Port Vila and Mystery Island feature on those longer itineraries, as well as on Anthem’s nine-night South Pacific departure from Sydney on January 6, 2027.

For Christmas, Quantum will depart Brisbane on December 20 on an eight-night South Pacific Holiday cruise. Its Queensland program also includes a six-night sailing on January 16, 2027, visiting Airlie Beach, Cairns and Willis Island.

Anthem’s Sydney program includes a nine-night New Zealand Holiday cruise departing December 19. That Christmas sailing will call at the Bay of Islands, Auckland and Tauranga.

Royal Caribbean will also run its Wiggly-themed holidays on selected departures from both homeports. Three family-focused cruises across the ships will feature The Wiggly Friends, with character appearances, live concerts, interactive activities and jointly branded merchandise.

Onboard, the two Quantum-class ships share attractions including the North Star observation capsule, RipCord by iFLY skydiving simulator, SeaPlex activity space and Two70 entertainment venue.

Last summer before Lelepa

The deployment is Royal Caribbean’s last Australian summer season before the planned opening of its private beach club at Lelepa in Vanuatu. After the destination opens, the line is expected to focus more of its regional itineraries on the South Pacific.

Quantum will leave Brisbane on April 11 for a 23-night repositioning cruise to Seattle, visiting Papeete, Moorea, Raiatea and Honolulu. Anthem’s departure from Sydney follows on April 14, with a 16-night voyage to Vancouver, British Columbia, calling at those same four destinations and Kailua-Kona.
