Royal Caribbean Group Adds Former Airbnb Operations Chief to Board
Before Airbnb, Bunch held senior leadership posts at Apple and Hewlett-Packard, and she serves on The Vanguard Group’s board and its Audit Committee.
Royal Caribbean Group has appointed Tara Bunch, the former Airbnb senior vice president and global head of operations, to its board of directors. Bunch brings experience in global platform operations, customer service, trust and safety, privacy, payments, insurance and quality programs across a network spanning more than 220 countries and regions.
Royal Caribbean Group is the parent company of Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea Cruises, and holds a 50% interest in TUI Cruises.
“Tara is a seasoned global executive with deep global experience in scaling technology-enabled service models,” said Jason Liberty, chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. Liberty said her perspective would be valuable as the company continues expanding its vacation business and serving guests globally.
Before Airbnb, Bunch held senior leadership posts at Apple and Hewlett-Packard Company. Her responsibilities across those roles included global customer service, technical support, repair operations, product development and large-scale technology-enabled services.
Bunch also has governance and risk oversight experience. She serves on the board of The Vanguard Group and is a member of its Audit Committee.
She holds an MBA from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Royal Caribbean Group did not announce a board committee assignment for Bunch or disclose a separate effective date for the appointment.
