Princess Cruises Drops Princess Cays From Six Ships in 2026

The Oct. 17, 2026 Regal Princess departure is the last published Princess itinerary including the 40-acre Eleuthera retreat, which has hosted passengers since 1992.

Princess Cruises has removed Princess Cays from published itineraries for six ships beginning in November 2026, ending its scheduled calls at the Eleuthera beach destination. Sun Princess and Caribbean Princess are among the vessels being redirected to RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay and Celebration Key, two other Carnival Corporation destinations in the Bahamas.

Princess Cays, the line’s 40-acre beach retreat on southern Eleuthera, has hosted its passengers since 1992. The line did not give a specific reason.

“As with all cruise vacations, itineraries may occasionally be adjusted for a variety of operational and commercial reasons,” Princess Cruises said. The line added that Princess Cays is not closing and will remain available to cruise lines for calls throughout the year.

Prepaid shore excursions, cabanas and beach rentals for affected Princess Cays visits will be canceled automatically, with payments returned to the original form of payment. Activities at the replacement destination will appear in guests’ bookings, allowing passengers to reserve new excursions or cabanas.

What replaces Princess Cays

RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay has a newly added 1,005-foot pier that allows ships to dock without tender transfers. The destination also provides an electric tram system, beach grills, loungers and umbrellas, along with reservable cabanas, daybeds, water-sport rentals and shore excursions.

Celebration Key, on the south coast of Grand Bahama, covers 65 acres and has four berths with capacity for as many as 13,000 guests per day. Its areas include Calypso Lagoon, Starfish Lagoon, the Lokono Cove shopping district and the capacity-controlled Pearl Cove Beach Club. Guests receive a complimentary meal voucher, with other dining and premium experiences available at additional cost.

Carnival Cruise Line has also replaced Princess Cays with RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay on two November 2026 itineraries. Carnival Spirit’s Nov. 8 departure from Mobile and Carnival Paradise’s Nov. 9 sailing from Tampa will retain their original port dates and times, with no other itinerary changes announced. Prepaid Princess Cays excursions on those cruises will be canceled and refunded.

The Oct. 17, 2026 departure of Regal Princess is scheduled to be the final published Princess itinerary that includes Princess Cays. The destination remains listed on several Carnival Cruise Line itineraries in November 2027 and 2028.
