Polar Latitudes Adds Lofoten-to-Svalbard Voyage for 2028

The thirteen-day Four Arctic Island itinerary will be offered northbound and southbound between Reykjavik and Longyearbyen, linking Iceland, Greenland, Jan Mayen and Svalbard.

Polar Latitudes Expeditions has announced its Arctic 2028 season, with expedition voyages across Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland, Jan Mayen and Arctic Norway. The lineup is led by a new 10-day itinerary, “Norway’s Wild North: Lofoten to Svalbard,” operated aboard the 2023-built Ocean Albatros.

The program ranges from shorter Svalbard sailings to longer Arctic crossings linking multiple regions. Each itinerary is scheduled to sail with an Expedition Team, with programming centered on wildlife, wilderness and cultural discovery.

New Lofoten-to-Svalbard voyage leads the season

The new Lofoten-to-Svalbard itinerary will take guests from Arctic Norway toward Svalbard, where Polar Latitudes is emphasizing High Arctic wildlife. Ocean Albatros carries a PC6 / Ice Class 1A polar notation.

Polar Latitudes’ current polar fleet includes Ocean Albatros, Ocean Victory, MV Discoverer and Ocean Nova.

Returning Svalbard and Greenland itineraries are included

In Svalbard, the eight-day “North to the Midnight Sun” voyage is built around polar bear, walrus and seabird viewing. The 10-day “Svalbard Circumnavigation” is scheduled to sail around the archipelago, including southern fjords and Hinlopen Strait.

Greenland programming includes the 12-day “Greenland Explorer,” following the Norse Sea route along eastern, southern and western Greenland, and the eight-day “Disko Bay & Beyond,” featuring the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord.

For guests seeking a multi-region Arctic sailing, Polar Latitudes plans a 13-day “Four Arctic Island” itinerary linking Iceland, Greenland, Jan Mayen and Svalbard. The crossing will be offered in both northbound and southbound directions between Reykjavik and Longyearbyen.

The announcement did not include individual departure dates, starting fares or an executive statement.
