Orient Express Corinthian has arrived in Bridgetown, Barbados, for a Caribbean winter season running from October 2026 through spring 2027. The ship reached the island after a 14-night transatlantic voyage from Lisbon via Ponta Delgada.
The deployment follows the vessel’s inaugural Mediterranean season and extends its schedule to the Caribbean, the Bahamas and the United States. Corinthian is the first operating vessel for Orient Express Sailing Yachts, which plans a two-yacht fleet.
Winter routes include a five-night Leeward Islands voyage
The winter program combines shorter cruises with longer passages. Destinations include the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Saint Martin, Saint-Barth, Barbuda, Antigua, Barbados and Puerto Rico.
A January 2027 itinerary will sail for five nights from Marigot, Saint-Martin, to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Its Leeward Islands calls include St. Kitts and Nevis, Falmouth Bay in Antigua and Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands.
The Atlantic crossing to Barbados, named “Ocean Rebirth,” featured wellness and regeneration programming developed with Guerlain. The yacht has approximately 500 square meters of spa space. The itinerary announcement did not include a statement from an Orient Express executive.
A 110-guest yacht with rigid sails
Built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique in France, Corinthian measures 220 meters and accommodates up to 110 guests in 54 suites. It began its maiden voyage in early May.
Corinthian carries three automated SolidSail rigid sails, each covering approximately 1,500 square meters. The tiltable system uses wind when conditions permit, while hybrid LNG propulsion supplies supplemental power.
Sister vessel Orient Express Olympian is scheduled to enter service in summer 2027, with plans for Northern European sailings that include Scandinavia, Brittany and the Thames.
In spring 2027, Corinthian will cross the Atlantic to Europe, with sailings from Lisbon and the Iberian Peninsula toward the Mediterranean and Adriatic. Its second summer season will introduce Orient Express Sailing Yachts’ first Eastern Mediterranean itineraries.
