Oceania Cruises Drops Non-Commissionable Fares on New Sailings

Oceania Aurelia’s program includes two one hundred eighty-day Around the World voyages, with reservations for previewed itineraries opening May 13.

Oceania Cruises will eliminate non-commissionable cruise fares on all newly launched sailings due to be announced in May and June, applying the change to its 2028 summer, 2028-29 winter and 2028 and 2029 Around the World programs. Once the new inventory opens for sale, the line’s published commission rates will apply across the full fare base designated for commission.

The company described the move as a permanent change to advisor compensation rather than a limited booking promotion. Oceania said guest-facing pricing and overall value will remain unchanged.

Permanent change to the commission base

Non-commissionable cruise fares are the portions of a cruise price excluded from travel-agent commission calculations. By removing that category from these new launches, Oceania is increasing the amount of each booking on which advisors can earn commission.

"Travel advisors are central to Oceania Cruises’ growth strategy—today and long into the future," said Nathan Hickman, chief sales officer of Oceania Cruises. He said eliminating NCFs "increases advisor earning potential on every booking" and supports the company’s effort to build a more advisor-focused commercial model.

Aurelia sailings feed the 2028-29 launch cycle

The compensation change coincides with Oceania’s release of long-range deployment, including the inaugural program for Oceania Aurelia, the 476-guest ship now operating as Oceania Nautica before its planned reintroduction. The vessel is scheduled to debut in late 2027, with a christening ceremony planned for January 2028 in Miami.

Aurelia’s first season begins in Europe in late November 2027 before the ship crosses from Lisbon to Miami in January 2028. Its two 180-day Around the World voyages include a Miami-to-New York sailing departing Jan. 18, 2028, and a Los Angeles-to-New York circumnavigation departing Jan. 6, 2029.

Oceania also plans two Grand Voyages on the ship: a 78-day Grand Nordic & Baltic Discovery voyage from New York to Boston departing July 18, 2028, and a 71-day Grand South America Adventure from Miami to Los Angeles departing Oct. 27, 2028, including calls around South America and a visit to the Antarctic Peninsula.

"We are thrilled to welcome Oceania Aurelia, The Ultimate Explorer, to the fleet next year," said Jason Montague, chief luxury officer of Oceania Cruises.

Aurelia’s voyages are available for preview online. Reservations open May 13. Further 2028 summer and 2028-29 winter deployment announcements are expected through May and June.
