HX Expeditions Extends Greenland Promise to 2027 Sailings

HX Expeditions will add 2027 to its HX Greenland Promise, extending the booking protection across the line’s Greenland departures in both 2026 and 2027. The policy gives qualifying guests options to move to another HX voyage, receive an additional 20 percent Future Cruise Credit or take a full refund if HX cancels a Greenland sailing, or if a guest’s government advises against travel.

HX introduced the promise in January. It applies to existing and new bookings on HX voyages departing in 2026 and 2027 where Greenland is included, including dedicated East and West Greenland departures.

What the promise covers

For guests who transfer to another HX voyage, payments made directly to HX can be applied to the replacement trip, including optional flights, hotels, transfers and excursions booked through the line. The additional 20 percent Future Cruise Credit is calculated on the original cruise fare, less discounts, and excludes optional extras.

Guests who choose the refund option can recover money paid directly to HX, including add-ons purchased through the company. The protection does not extend to independent travel arrangements or other costs not booked with, or paid to, HX.

“By extending the HX Greenland Promise to all Greenland sailings in 2027, we are giving travelers even more reassurance to book with confidence,” said Gebhard Rainer, CEO of HX Expeditions.

HX’s Arctic expedition operations date to 1896, and the line’s dedicated expedition fleet totals seven purpose-built polar-class vessels as of 2026.

HX launches a Greenland series

HX also launched a four-part YouTube series, “Kalaallit: Portraits of Greenland,” built around perspectives from Greenlandic voices. The line said the episodes focus on Greenland’s culture, communities and identity.

Karin Strand, vice president of expedition development for HX and Greenland product owner, said the series was created so Greenlanders could “share their own personal perspectives, experiences and connections to their home.”

HX and the HX Foundation have supported initiatives with the Association of Greenlandic Children for seven years, including summer camps, support for children facing difficult circumstances and educational development.

The promise is not combinable with other claims for compensation, refunds or price reductions. Future Cruise Credits issued under the policy must be redeemed within 90 calendar days, and the new HX voyage must depart within 18 months of the issue date.
