Harmony of the Seas Reorders Bahamas Calls Due to Rough Weather
Passengers whose excursions cannot be moved to the new port dates will receive automatic SeaPass credits, with any remaining refundable balance returned after the sailing.
Royal Caribbean International has reordered port calls for the Oasis-class Harmony of the Seas’ five-night Bahamas cruise departing Port Canaveral on October 24, 2026, because of forecast rough weather. Nassau will become the first stop, while Perfect Day at CocoCay moves later in the voyage, with both destinations retained.
Passengers received notice on October 23, the day before embarkation. The departure date and Thursday, October 29, return to Port Canaveral remain unchanged.
In its email to guests, Royal Caribbean attributed the revision to “a weather system expected to bring unfavorable conditions to the Bahamas.”
Revised calls and excursion arrangements
Harmony of the Seas will now visit Nassau on Sunday, October 25, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., moving the call forward from Tuesday. The ship will spend Monday at sea before calling at Perfect Day at CocoCay on Tuesday, October 27, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., one day later than originally scheduled.
The hours alongside at both destinations are unchanged. Wednesday remains the voyage’s final sea day.
Royal Caribbean will transfer shore excursions purchased through the cruise line to the revised port dates where possible. Excursions that cannot be rescheduled will be canceled automatically, with payments credited to passengers’ SeaPass accounts. Any refundable balance left at the end of the sailing will be returned to the payment card on file.
The change in port days could also create conflicts with existing onboard bookings, including specialty dining reservations and spa appointments arranged around the original schedule.
Thunderstorms and gusty winds forecast
Windy.com forecasts showed gusts reaching about 30 mph around CocoCay on Monday, the ship’s original visiting day, along with a strong chance of thunderstorms. Nassau’s forecast for Tuesday included winds gusting to 25–27 mph and storms during the morning and afternoon.
Sunday’s Nassau forecast called for lighter winds of 12–15 mph. The ship is scheduled to leave as conditions begin deteriorating. The revised CocoCay call could still encounter blustery weather, although winds were expected to ease later that day.
Other Royal Caribbean ships rerouted
Other Royal Caribbean sailings have undergone more extensive weather-related changes. Independence of the Seas’ five-night departure from Cape Liberty, New Jersey, also scheduled for October 24, exchanged its Bermuda visit for an overnight stay in Saint John, New Brunswick. A National Weather Service gale warning for waters between the U.S. coast and Bermuda forecast winds reaching 40 knots and seas of up to 19 feet over the departure weekend.
Earlier, Oasis of the Seas’ October 18 sailing from Cape Liberty lost its planned Port Canaveral, CocoCay and Nassau calls and was redirected to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Royal Caribbean subsequently extended that visit to give passengers a full day ashore.
Further adjustments to Harmony of the Seas’ schedule remain possible as weather forecasts are refined. Royal Caribbean will notify passengers onboard if additional changes are confirmed.
