Golden Destinations Charters Star Voyager for Port Klang Cruises

The onboard product includes international dining, entertainment and certified Halal dining at The Lido restaurant on the refurbished ship.

Golden Destinations has chartered StarCruises’ Star Voyager for five Port Klang departures during Malaysia’s December 2026 school holiday period, with GD World Cruises selling short cruises to Phuket and Krabi, Thailand. The program gives the Malaysian outbound travel group dedicated inventory on StarCruises tonnage across two- and three-night sailings from Dec. 5 to Dec. 22, 2026.

The charter targets family holiday travel as well as couples, groups of friends, corporate incentive groups and MICE travelers. Mita Lim, managing director of Golden Destinations Group Berhad, called the program a “significant milestone” for GD World Cruises and Golden Destinations Group Berhad.

Michael Goh, president of StarDream Cruises, said Golden Destinations “has been a valued travel partner over the years,” adding that the company was pleased to work with GD on the Star Voyager program.

Five short-cruise departures scheduled

GD World Cruises is offering three-night Phuket-Krabi sailings departing Dec. 5, Dec. 8 and Dec. 22, 2026. The schedule also includes a two-night Krabi cruise departing Dec. 18 and a two-night Phuket cruise departing Dec. 20.

The onboard product includes international dining, entertainment and certified Halal dining at The Lido restaurant. The cruises will depart from Port Klang, Malaysia’s main cruise gateway for Kuala Lumpur.

Star Voyager brings recently refurbished capacity

Star Voyager, refurbished in 2025 after previously sailing as Pacific Explorer, has capacity for about 1,940 guests. StarCruises’ current active fleet consists of Star Voyager and Star Navigator, both relaunched in 2025.

Sales open through Golden Destinations’ agent network

Golden Destinations sells primarily through a B2B model serving licensed travel agents in Malaysia. Its ICE Holidays subsidiary covers series tours, cruise travel, FIT, MICE and domestic tour products.

Bookings are now open through Golden Destinations’ nationwide network of travel partners and authorized agents. The announcement did not disclose fares or financial terms for the charter.
