Emerald Cruises Plans Rum-Themed Caribbean Sailing for 2027
Emerald Sakara is a 100-guest yacht that followed Emerald Azzura into the ocean fleet in 2023, with the itinerary including Nelson's Dockyard in Antigua.
Emerald Cruises will operate a seven-night rum-themed Caribbean sailing from St. Thomas to San Juan aboard Emerald Sakara, the 100-guest yacht that followed Emerald Azzura into the line’s ocean fleet in 2023. It departs March 13, 2027. The Quintessential Caribbean with Rum Sommelier Alejandro Ferris voyage will pair island calls with tastings, educational presentations and hosted discussions led by Ferris.
Ferris is scheduled to lead guests through the development of Caribbean rum, from older distilling traditions to contemporary premium expressions.
“Today’s luxury traveler wants more than beautiful destinations,” said Ken Muskat, president of Scenic Group USA & LATAM. “This specialty sailing combines the intimacy of luxury yacht cruising with one of the Caribbean’s most iconic cultural traditions.”
The itinerary is scheduled to call at Cruz Bay on St. John; Nevis; Deshaies in Guadeloupe; Nelson’s Dockyard in Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; St. Barths; and Virgin Gorda.
“Every island tells its own story through its people, traditions, cuisine and craftsmanship,” Ferris said. “Rum simply becomes the perfect lens through which to experience the Caribbean.”
Emerald did not disclose starting fares or identify additional rum-themed departures.
