Crystal Serenity Plans 2026 Drydock for Suite, Venue Upgrades

Deck 10 Aquamarine Classic Suites will get new furnishings without layout changes, while Crystal Cove receives a marble dance floor and new stage for live entertainment.

Crystal Cruises will send Crystal Serenity into a three-week drydock in October 2026 for a refurbishment covering Deck 10 suites, public-area interiors and shipboard technical systems. The work will add a Pool Bar on Deck 12, renew venues including Crystal Cove and the Atrium, and include propulsion-line, fin, hull, electrical and automation work.

The project follows the drydock of Crystal Symphony, the other ship in Crystal's current ocean fleet. On Crystal Serenity, part of the hotel scope is intended to align Deck 10 Aquamarine Classic Suites with the design style introduced during the ship's 2023 transformation.

"Following the successful drydock of Crystal Symphony, our work aboard Crystal Serenity is guided first and foremost by the guest experience," said Bernie Leypold, Crystal's senior vice president of hotel operations.

Built in 2003, Crystal Serenity is an 820-foot, 68,870 GRT ship that now carries 740 guests and 655 crew.

Suite and venue updates

The Aquamarine Classic Suite work is concentrated on Deck 10, where living areas and bathrooms will receive new furnishings without changes to the suite layouts. Corridors on the same deck will also get new carpet and wallpaper.

On Deck 12, Crystal will add a Pool Bar for guests in the Seahorse Pool area. In Crystal Cove, the refurbishment will install a marble dance floor and a new stage for live entertainment, while the Atrium is also included in the public-space program.

Main public areas will receive new sound and entertainment systems. Seating will also be replaced or reupholstered at Waterside Restaurant, Stardust Club, Seahorse Pool and Marketplace.

Technical work and return to service

The drydock also includes ship systems work beyond the hotel side. The propulsion line is scheduled for work, the fins will receive a mechanical overhaul, and the hull will be cleaned and repainted. Electrical and automation upgrades are also planned for onboard systems.

Crystal Serenity is due back in service on Nov. 8, 2026, with a 15-day transatlantic voyage from Lisbon to Fort Lauderdale. The Caribbean season follows.
