Crystal Serenity Enters Three-Week Refit in Portugal
During its 15-night return crossing, Crystal Serenity will call in Portugal, Antigua, the British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico before beginning Caribbean and West Coast sailings.
Crystal Serenity has entered Lisnave Shipyard in Setubal, Portugal, for a three-week refurbishment covering public spaces, suites and technical systems. The ship is scheduled to return to passenger service on November 9, 2026, with a transatlantic repositioning voyage from Lisbon to Fort Lauderdale.
The work includes a new pool bar on Deck 12 and a redesigned layout with more seating in the Atrium and Crystal Cove. Crystal says the bar is intended to make service easier and more efficient.
Public spaces and suite interiors
The Atrium and Crystal Cove refurbishment will introduce a marble dance floor, a stage for live entertainment and a De Castelli mosaic. The mosaic follows the design installed aboard Crystal Symphony in 2025. Waterside Restaurant, the Stardust Club, the Seahorse Pool and the Marketplace are also included in the refurbishment.
On Deck 10, the Aquamarine Classic Suites will receive a complete refit of their living areas and bathrooms while retaining their existing layouts. New furnishings will follow the design approach introduced during the ship’s 2023 transformation.
That earlier rebuild enlarged accommodations and reduced passenger capacity. Built in 2003, the 68,870-gross-ton Crystal Serenity now accommodates 740 guests.
Technical work ahead of the winter season
The shipyard program also includes work on the propulsion line to support operational reliability, alongside hull cleaning and repainting. Electrical and automation systems will receive upgrades as part of the technical package, which Crystal says is intended to improve vessel performance and efficiency while supporting its environmental objectives.
The 15-night return voyage will call at destinations in Portugal, Antigua, the British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico before reaching Florida. It opens the ship’s 2026-27 winter deployment, with Caribbean and West Coast itineraries scheduled through early January.
After that regional program, Crystal Serenity will begin Crystal’s 2027 World Cruise. The voyage is scheduled to run for 139 nights and visit destinations across the Pacific Ocean.
