Costa Cruises Launches The Voice of the Sea Across Eight Ships

A professional singer, entertainment team member and senior crew officer coach contestants, while audience members use remote controls to vote in the finale.

Costa Cruises has announced the fleetwide launch of “The Voice of the Sea,” a passenger singing competition offered across its eight ships. The September 26, 2026, announcement outlines a format in which guests compete onstage and fellow passengers vote for the winner.

Up to 30 contestants can enter the karaoke-style auditions, and participants receive rehearsal time and coaching. Six to eight singers reach the finale.

“For some, it is a chance to share a talent they love,” said Priscilla Reyes, head of sales for Costa Cruises North America. “For others, it may be their first time performing in front of an audience.”

The coaching panel includes a professional singer, a member of the ship’s entertainment team and at least one senior crew officer. The officer’s seat may be filled by the captain, hotel director or first officer. After teams are formed, each coach chooses one singer from their team to advance to the finale.

During the final performances, audience members use remote-control devices to cast their votes. “What makes it so special is that our guests become the entertainment,” Reyes said.

The contest runs alongside Costa’s evening shows and themed parties, among them Silent Disco, White Night, Shining in the Dark and Luna Park Night.

Costa also stages parties drawing on the regions visited during particular itineraries. Those events combine live DJ sets and themed costumes with LED-wall visuals and appearances by dancers, musicians and singers.
