Coral Expeditions Adds No-Supplement Cabins for Solo Travelers

Coral Expeditions has expanded its Solo Traveler Program with selected no-supplement cabins on long-lead itineraries, standby offers available more than 60 days before departure and new hosted group sailings. Current specials cover voyages from October through December 2026 between Australia, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia aboard Coral Adventurer and Coral Geographer.

The standby window previously opened 30 days before departure, meaning the change at least doubles the advance booking period. Coral’s existing program allocates solo staterooms across Coral Adventurer, Coral Geographer and Coral Discoverer with a sole supplement, while the new no-supplement inventory applies to selected cabins and departures.

Coral Expeditions Chief Commercial Officer Jeff Gillies said the changes were intended to offer solo guests more choices at different points in the booking cycle.

“We are seeing increasing interest from travelers who want to explore independently while still enjoying a strong sense of community and connection,” Gillies said.

Hosted sailings add pre-cruise inclusions

The new Hosted Solo Traveler Group departures include dedicated crew hosts and scheduled opportunities for guests to meet other travelers. Pre-cruise accommodation, a welcome event and additional benefits are included in the group product, which Coral said may be particularly suitable for guests taking their first solo trip.

Gillies said guided excursions, visits to remote coastlines and shared time aboard the ships provide opportunities for passengers traveling alone to meet during an expedition.

The operator has also introduced a dedicated solo travel webpage where customers can compare voyages, fares and availability. Elsewhere in the program, Coral is offering a 25% reduction in the sole supplement across its 2026 and 2027 Kimberley voyages.

Three regional itineraries feature in 2026 offers

The 13-night Saltwater Country and Culture itinerary will leave Darwin for Cairns on Oct. 2, 2026, aboard Coral Adventurer. The voyage visits Arnhem Land, the Torres Straits and Cape York, with activities involving Tiwi, Yolgnu, Gumatj and Masig Island First Nations communities. Fares start at $16,790 per person.

Coral Adventurer will then operate the 12-night Frontier Lands of Papua New Guinea voyage from Cairns to Rabaul beginning Oct. 16. The itinerary includes village visits, traditional dance, snorkeling and exploration of the country’s volcanic and reef environments, with fares from $17,280 per person.

The 14-night Island Empires and Ancient Mariners of Indonesia itinerary will sail from Darwin to Makassar on Nov. 28 and Dec. 12. Its program includes Toraja highland traditions, the Phinisi boat builders of Tana Beru, Komodo dragon viewing, volcanic hikes and snorkeling or diving in the Coral Triangle. Both departures are scheduled aboard Coral Geographer, with fares starting at $14,650 per person.
