Century Cruises to Launch Century Vision on Yangtze in 2026

The downstream Chongqing-to-Yichang sailing is the shorter side of the route, while the reverse program is generally sold as a five-day, four-night trip.

Century Cruises will launch Century Vision, a 15,000-ton Yangtze River vessel for up to 650 guests, on Sept. 21, 2026. The ship is scheduled for the company’s four-day Chongqing-Yichang itinerary, adding 236 cabins to Century’s Three Gorges cruise product.

The vessel is being introduced on the shorter direction of the Chongqing-Yichang pairing, a downstream route that typically operates as a four-day, three-night sailing. The reverse Yichang-Chongqing program is generally sold as a five-day, four-night trip.

“Today’s travelers are seeking journeys that inspire, educate, and create lasting memories, and Century Vision delivers that experience unlike any other on the Yangtze River,” said David Fredericks, president and general manager, The Americas, Century Cruises.

Century Vision is listed at nearly 150 meters long and 21.2 meters wide. Onboard dining will include three restaurants serving Chinese and international cuisine.

The ship’s planned public areas include a Digital Museum Zone, a digital library focused on Chinese history, culture and heritage, a library, a photography studio on Deck 4, a spa, a fitness center and a 360-degree panoramic sun deck. Programming is scheduled to include lectures, cooking demonstrations, tai chi sessions and introductory Mandarin lessons.

On the Chongqing-to-Yichang route, ships commonly embark at Chongqing’s Chaotianmen Dock, sail through Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge, and finish near Yichang after Three Gorges Dam-area touring. Century did not provide a day-by-day shore-excursion schedule for Century Vision in the announcement.

Fredericks said Century is presenting the new vessel to travel advisor partners and guests in North America as the company prepares to expand into Europe in 2026 and Egypt in 2027. The announcement did not identify ships, itineraries or launch dates for those additional markets.
