Century Cruises Adds 2027 Nile Itineraries on Sunrise Terramar
Sunrise Terramar Nile Cruise is listed with twenty suite cabins, and the longer Legends of Egypt itinerary adds a three-night Hurghada stay.
Century Cruises will launch two Egypt itineraries aboard Sunrise Terramar in 2027, adding a Nile River program that combines a seven-night sailing with hotel stays and guided touring. The rollout advances a plan the company tentatively announced in April.
The move takes Chongqing-based Century Cruises beyond its Yangtze River core in China. The named Nile vessel, Sunrise Terramar Nile Cruise, is listed with 20 suite cabins.
“Our guests have been asking us for years if we’d ever bring the Century experience to the Nile. We took that feedback seriously,” said David Fredericks, president and general manager of Century Cruises.
The Egypt programs
The shorter itinerary, the 11-day Treasures of the Nile, runs from Cairo to Luxor and is built around Egypt’s ancient sites and cultural history. The 15-day Legends of Egypt uses the same Nile cruise component and adds a four-day extension in Hurghada, the Red Sea resort city.
Both packages include air travel to and from the United States, private ground transfers, three nights in Cairo, seven nights aboard Sunrise Terramar, guided sightseeing, onboard dining, beer and wine with lunch and dinner, and a selection of included shore excursions. The Hurghada extension adds transfers to the resort area, a three-night stay, daily excursions, meals and transportation back to Cairo.
The onboard program will include lectures on Egyptian history and the Nile’s role in the country, alongside shore programming intended to deepen the cultural component of the cruise. Century did not list specific 2027 departure dates or starting fares with the itinerary announcement.
Century plans further Nile growth
Fredericks said Century wanted the Egypt product to carry the company’s approach to ship design, service, cultural programming and value into a new river market. “Egypt is one of the world’s most extraordinary destinations,” he said.
“This is just the beginning,” Fredericks said. Century expects to add more Nile departures and new vessels in the coming years, but it has not named those vessels or released a schedule for the expanded program.
