Carnival Plans 155 Halloween Cruises Across Entire Fleet in 2026
Carnival Conquest leads the schedule with nine three- and four-night Bahamas sailings from Miami, while Carnival Luminosa opens with a nineteen-night San Francisco-to-Tokyo voyage.
Carnival Cruise Line has confirmed 155 "Frightfully Fun" Halloween cruises across all 29 ships in 2026, with departures scheduled from Sept. 20 through Oct. 31. Every ship in the fleet will carry multiple themed sailings, with Halloween decor, costume events and seasonal entertainment spread across the line’s late-September and October calendar.
The calendar covers more than five weeks and reaches the full Carnival Cruise Line roster, including the Australia-based Carnival Adventure, Carnival Encounter and Carnival Splendor. It also spans different deployment patterns, from short Bahamas cruises to a trans-Pacific repositioning voyage.
"Halloween is a brilliant time to cruise," John Heald, Carnival’s brand ambassador, said in a Facebook announcement. Heald said the 2026 sailings would include decorated ships and costume parades during October.
Conquest leads the calendar; Luminosa opens it
Carnival Conquest is scheduled for the most Halloween cruises, with nine themed sailings, all on three- and four-night Bahamas itineraries from Miami. Carnival Luminosa has the fewest, with two themed voyages tied to its transition out of a West Coast deployment.
Carnival Luminosa began its first San Francisco homeport season in May after repositioning from Australia, operating four-night Mexico cruises and 10-night Alaska and Canada itineraries. The former Costa ship joined Carnival in 2022 following a European refurbishment.
Programming and passenger rules
Onboard programming will vary by sailing, but Carnival lists spooky trivia, themed bingo, seasonal drinks, Halloween movies on the big screen, live music, entertainment performances, costume contests, themed crafts and Halloween parades among the offerings. Seasonal food items are also planned.
Beyond the 2026 items named in the announcement, Carnival’s Frightfully Fun program has included trick-or-treating, Patch’s Pumpkin Hunt, pumpkin-carving competitions, Patch’s Halloween Deck Party and age-segmented events for children, teens and adults. Exact activities can differ by ship and sailing.
The 12-foot-tall Patch the Pumpkin Pirate will not appear on Carnival Luminosa, Carnival Legend or Carnival Freedom in 2026 because of "travel plans." Carnival’s calendar still lists the remaining Halloween decorations and activities for those ships.
Passengers packing costumes will need to follow Carnival’s event rules: costumes must be family-friendly, and real or imitation weapons, masks or face coverings, real or implied nudity, and obscene words or images are prohibited.
The first themed departure is Carnival Luminosa’s Sept. 20 repositioning cruise from San Francisco to Tokyo, a 19-night voyage scheduled for Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point and Hubbard Glacier before calls at Otaru, Aomori, Shimizu and Kobe. After reaching Japan, the ship is due for drydock in Southeast Asia ahead of its Australia and South Pacific winter season.
