Carnival Launches Interactive Twitch Livestream With iJustine

Viewers will direct iJustine’s route and side quests as she works toward a Cruise Director badge, while a live Fun Meter can end the session if it reaches zero.

Carnival Cruise Line will stage Play Carnival, a viewer-directed livestream aboard Carnival Celebration, on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. EST. Digital creator iJustine and Carnival Fleet Cruise Director Erin Weigand will lead the event, which will include a chance for viewers to win a cruise.

Carnival is billing the event as the first interactive livestream by a cruise line on Twitch. The broadcast will run on Carnival’s Twitch channel and its Instagram and TikTok accounts. Viewers will vote on where iJustine goes and which side quests she attempts, while Weigand relays audience requests, explains instructions and introduces challenges.

“We’re excited to bring the worlds of gaming and cruising together, partnering with iJustine to make it happen,” said Michael Sotelo, vice president of brand, product and social media at Carnival Cruise Line.

Twitch does not publish a complete, regularly updated set of audience metrics, but estimates put its daily active users at about 35 million, with roughly 72% of its audience younger than 35.

Viewer votes drive the onboard game

During the broadcast, iJustine will work toward earning a Cruise Director badge. A live “Fun Meter” will track the game’s energy level, and the session ends if the meter reaches zero. Audience choices will also introduce twists as the hosts move through the adventure.

The gameplay will draw on Carnival Celebration’s venues and activities, along with destinations in Carnival’s Paradise Collection, which Carnival chose to give viewers a look at what its vacations offer through challenges and side quests. The announcement did not name the individual spaces or destinations that will appear, and it gave no entry rules or prize itinerary for the cruise giveaway.

Brand campaign heads toward Wave season

Play Carnival forms part of “Find Your Fun Again,” the latest campaign under the line’s broader “Carnival Is Calling” brand platform. Sotelo said the livestream is a way to introduce Carnival vacations to a new audience through a different format.

Carnival plans further brand activity ahead of Wave season. The line did not identify those initiatives or give a schedule for their release.
