Carnival Cancels Nine Jubilee Sailings From Galveston in 2027
Rebooking requests are due by August 5, 2026; guests who move to a comparable sailing keep their cruise rate and get onboard credit.
Carnival Cruise Line has canceled nine Carnival Jubilee departures from the ship’s Galveston program, scheduled from Aug. 15 through Dec. 11, 2027. Carnival cited “itinerary changes” in an email, while guest communications signed by Carnival Vice President of Guest Services Colleen Oliverio referred to “operational reasons.” The line has not provided a fuller explanation.
The 2023-built, LNG-powered Excel-class Carnival Jubilee carries about 5,300 guests at normal occupancy and operates year-round from Galveston.
Removed sailings and guest terms
The canceled departures are Aug. 15, Aug. 21, Aug. 29, Sept. 12, Sept. 18, Sept. 26, Nov. 27, Dec. 5 and Dec. 11, 2027. The sailings had been scheduled from Galveston on six- to eight-night Western Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries.
Carnival said affected guests and their travel advisors have been notified and offered alternative sailing options. A guest notice said passengers who rebook on a comparable Carnival sailing in similar accommodations will have their current cruise rate protected and receive $50 per person in onboard credit, capped at $100 per stateroom.
Guests who do not move to another sailing can receive a full refund of cruise fares and prepaid purchases. Rebooking requests are due by Aug. 5, 2026, after which refunds are set to be processed automatically for guests who do not select a replacement cruise.
A separate Sept. 4 sailing goes adults-only
A separate change affects Carnival Jubilee’s Sept. 4, 2027, departure. Carnival told guests on that sailing, “We have made operational changes to your voyage — the sailing will now be exclusively for guests 21 years and older.”
Passengers who remain on the modified Sept. 4 cruise must have birth dates attached to their reservations by the same response deadline. Parties traveling with anyone under 21 can move to a comparable sailing with fare protection and onboard credit or cancel for a full refund.
Carnival’s SEA program, Sailings Exclusively for Adults, is limited to guests 21 and older and is marketed through targeted offers. The cruises include adult-focused programming such as casino activity, nightlife, themed parties and entertainment.
Carnival has not said the nine removed Carnival Jubilee cruises will return as SEA sailings. Earlier this year, the line canceled 11 Carnival Firenze departures scheduled between Oct. 12 and Nov. 16, 2026, and later announced four SEA cruises from Long Beach between Oct. 12 and Nov. 20, 2026.
What Jubilee is sailing now
Carnival Jubilee is a roughly 183,000-gross-ton ship measuring about 345 meters in length. The vessel currently operates seven-night Western Caribbean cruises from Galveston with calls that include Costa Maya, Cozumel and Carnival’s Isla Tropicale in Roatan.
Beginning in September, Carnival has scheduled broader six- to eight-night Carnival Jubilee itineraries that also include Bahamas calls at RelaxAway Half Moon Cay and Celebration Key. The line has not announced what will replace the nine canceled 2027 departures.
