Carnival Adventure Shifts Six 2026 Sydney Cruises to White Bay

Temporary moves to White Bay underscore how Sydney’s cruise growth depends on port upgrades that can improve capacity while adding short-term friction for travelers.

Carnival Cruise Line will move embarkation or disembarkation for Carnival Adventure on six Sydney cruises in July and August 2026 while upgrade work is carried out at the Overseas Passenger Terminal. The changes, detailed to booked guests in an April 21 advisory, shift selected calls from the line’s usual Circular Quay berth to White Bay Cruise Terminal in Rozelle, with published arrival and departure times unchanged.

White Bay is about four miles west of the Overseas Passenger Terminal and is not served by nearby public transport, making taxis, rideshares, private vehicles and terminal drop-off the main options for affected guests.

Affected cruises split between the two terminals

The first affected voyage is the July 6, 2026, nine-night sailing to Vanuatu and New Caledonia. Carnival Adventure is scheduled to depart that cruise from the Overseas Passenger Terminal but return to White Bay on July 15.

The July 15 departure will then leave from White Bay and return there on July 19. The July 19, 10-night cruise is also scheduled to use White Bay for both departure and arrival, returning to Sydney on July 29.

The July 29, nine-night voyage will depart from White Bay and return to the same terminal on Aug. 7. In August, the Aug. 10 cruise will depart from the Overseas Passenger Terminal but return to White Bay on Aug. 19, setting up the Aug. 19 departure from White Bay before the ship returns to its regular Circular Quay terminal on Aug. 29.

White Bay access adds transfer planning

Carnival has told guests the terminal changes will not alter the ship’s scheduled arrival or departure times. Passengers who would normally stay near or travel through Circular Quay will still need to account for the additional transfer to or from White Bay on affected embarkation and disembarkation days.

Taxi and rideshare journeys between Sydney’s city center and White Bay typically take 15 to 25 minutes, depending on traffic. The terminal has short-term parking and supports private vehicle drop-off and pick-up.

Vehicle access to White Bay Cruise Terminal is via The Crescent and James Craig Road, with the terminal located at 2041 James Craig Road in Rozelle. Roberts Street is typically closed to cruise-day vehicle traffic, so drivers relying on navigation apps may need to follow port signage instead.

The Overseas Passenger Terminal remains Carnival’s normal Sydney facility. It sits at Circular Quay, near the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Carnival did not specify the scope of the OPT upgrade work in its guest advisory or state whether the temporary terminal moves are connected to the Port Authority of NSW’s separate berthing project described in a management plan.

Carnival Adventure remains on Sydney program

Carnival Adventure previously sailed as Golden Princess for Princess Cruises and later as Pacific Adventure for P&O Cruises Australia before joining Carnival’s fleet in March 2025 after P&O Australia was wound down.

The ship is based in Australia year-round and sails from Sydney alongside Carnival Splendor on Australia and South Pacific itineraries, including voyages to Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Moreton Island through February 2027. The final affected terminal change is scheduled to clear on Aug. 29, 2026, when Carnival Adventure returns to the Overseas Passenger Terminal as normal.
