Carnival Adds New Bow Crest to U.S. Fleet After Dry Docks

The rollout excludes Carnival Jubilee and the 2028 Carnival Tropicale, which carry Texas-star bow branding instead of the new crest.

Carnival Cruise Line has begun adding a new “From Sea to Shining Sea” bow crest to its U.S. fleet, with Carnival Legend debuting the design after a 16-day dry dock in Freeport and Carnival Magic following as the second ship after its own Bahamas dry dock. The livery element is being installed through dry docks and new ship deliveries, with Carnival Jubilee and the 2028 Carnival Tropicale excluded because they carry Texas-star bow branding.

Carnival markets itself as “America’s Cruise Line” and operates 29 ships. Carnival introduced the crest ahead of Memorial Day weekend and its planned America250 programming tied to the United States’ 250th anniversary.

Dry docks become the rollout path

Carnival Legend resumed revenue service in Miami on May 20 after dry dock work in Freeport, becoming the first Carnival ship to carry the new crest. Carnival did not provide a detailed list of other Legend dry-dock work in the crest announcement.

“Carnival is proud to be America’s Cruise Line,” Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said. “We sail coast to coast and connect with millions of guests every year.”

For the unveiling, Carnival invited veterans from the Miami Veteran Affairs Healthcare System to view the crest and receive America250 challenge coins. Carnival says it carries more active-duty military personnel and veterans than any other cruise line and holds military appreciation gatherings on every North American sailing.

Carnival describes the crest as inspired by “America the Beautiful” and said the design draws on the landscapes and oceans it shares with guests nationwide. The crest follows Carnival’s earlier red, white and blue hull livery, which debuted with Mardi Gras; that fleetwide hull-livery rollout was completed in 2024.

Carnival Magic follows with upgrades

Carnival Magic returned to Miami from a 35-day dry dock in The Bahamas as the second ship to display the new bow crest. Its dry dock included an updated casino and arcade, a redesigned Lido restaurant layout, refreshed WaterWorks and pool decks, a new mini golf course, renovated Cloud 9 Spa and fitness areas, and refreshed retail spaces including the Effy Jewelry boutique.

Carnival Magic resumed Miami sailings to the Caribbean and The Bahamas, including calls tied to Celebration Key. After an initial short Bahamas cruise, the ship was scheduled to return to six- and eight-night Eastern and Southern Caribbean itineraries.

Carnival Legend’s first post-dry-dock sailing was a four-night Bahamas cruise from South Florida to Nassau and RelaxAway at Half Moon Cay. The ship was then scheduled for a 14-night trans-Atlantic crossing to Dover, followed by summer itineraries in Northern Europe, the British Isles, Scandinavia and the Mediterranean.

Carnival has not published a full ship-by-ship sequence for the remaining crest installations beyond the initial Legend and Magic additions. Fleetwide patriotic programming tied to America250 is scheduled from June 4 to July 4, including trivia, crafts and ship meet-ups timed for Independence Day fireworks on both coasts.
