Caissa Charters Adora Mediterranea for Qingdao Cruises in 2026

Cruise passengers can upload a boarding pass through Qingdao’s ticket stub economy platform for coupons at about 800 merchants, including accommodation, restaurants and attractions.

Caissa Tourism has chartered Adora Cruises’ Adora Mediterranea, the former Costa Mediterranea, for two five-day cruises from Qingdao, with departures scheduled for October 20 and October 24, 2026. Both sailings follow a roundtrip itinerary calling at Fukuoka, Japan, and Jeju, South Korea.

Caissa said it is linking the cruises with visits to the Dabaodao historic district and resort products on Xiaoguan Island to encourage passengers to spend additional time in the city.

Three ways to see Fukuoka and Jeju

Caissa has designed three shore-excursion packages, designated A, B and C, for the two departures. The choices cover conventional sightseeing, more detailed cultural tours and options allowing longer periods of independent exploration during calls at Fukuoka and Jeju.

Qingdao connects cruise visits with city tourism

The Qingdao International Cruise Port Zone is developing a ticket-linked program covering merchant discounts, cultural visits and transport access.

Through the city’s “ticket stub economy” platform, cruise passengers can upload a boarding pass to obtain coupons from approximately 800 participating merchants. The offers span tourist attractions, accommodation, restaurants and retail.

The cruise port is in the old harbor area of Shibei District, close to Qingdao’s historic urban area. Metro Line 2 stops at International Cruise Terminal station, which opened with the line’s western extension in December 2024.

Qingdao handled 18 cruise calls and approximately 40,000 passenger movements in the first half of 2026, according to Shandong Port Group. For the full year in 2025, customs figures recorded 49 cruise ship visits and about 73,000 cruise passengers.

The city’s development targets call for more than 50 annual cruise calls and 200,000 passenger movements by 2028. Its longer-term goal is to exceed 200 calls and reach 1 million passengers annually by 2035.
