Ambassador Renews ORCA Partnership for 22 No-Fly Cruises

Ambience is assigned 13 sailings and 193 days at sea, while Ambition has nine sailings and 115 days under the shipboard education and citizen-science program.

Ambassador Cruise Line has renewed its partnership with marine conservation charity ORCA for the 2028-29 season, extending the onboard science and guest-education program to 22 no-fly cruises. Two ORCA Ocean Conservationists will sail on each itinerary between April 23, 2028, and March 29, 2029, collecting data and delivering workshops and lectures for passengers.

The renewal gives Purfleet-based Ambassador a sixth consecutive season with ORCA and covers 308 scheduled days at sea across its two ships. The program is tied to regional UK departures through waters including the British Isles, Iceland, the Faroes, Norway, the Mediterranean, Iberia and the Canary Islands.

“This collaboration allows us to support meaningful scientific research while offering guests a deeper understanding of the marine environments we sail through,” said Christian Verhounig, CEO of Ambassador Cruise Line. The renewal announcement did not include a statement from ORCA.

Program split between Ambience and Ambition

The schedule assigns 13 sailings and 193 days at sea to Ambience, with another nine sailings and 115 days on Ambition. ORCA’s Ocean Conservationists work through shipboard education and citizen-science activity, gathering data used in efforts to protect whales and dolphins, including in UK waters and the wider North East Atlantic.

Ambience examples named by Ambassador include the 13-night Iceland: Whales, Waterfalls & Geysers departure on May 13, 2028; the 15-night Colorful Atlantic Coastlines of Portugal, Morocco & Spain sailing on June 10; Volcanic Landscapes of Iceland and the Faroes on June 25; Scenic Coastlines of the British Isles on September 2; and Christmas Sunshine in Spain, Portugal & the Canaries on December 22.

Ambition examples include the nine-night Fjords & Mountains of Norway cruise on May 2, 2028; Norway’s Iconic Landscapes: Waterfalls, Mountains & Glaciers on June 7; Historic Harbours of Normandy & Brittany on July 19; Iberian Explorer: Andalusian Sun & Atlantic Spirit on August 6; and Atlantic Loop: Coastal France, Scilly Isles & Irish Charm on September 20.

Ambassador opened other 2028-29 itineraries in March. The company called it its earliest season launch since 2022.
