Adora Mediterranea Returns to Tianjin for 25 Sailings

From July 2 through the end of August, Adora Mediterranea is scheduled to host family activities and workshops inspired by Mediterranean culture and ancient Greek art.

Adora Cruises will return the 85,619-gt Adora Mediterranea to Tianjin on June 7 for a fourth consecutive homeport season, scheduling 25 international voyages through Oct. 11. The program keeps the 2,680-passenger ship in northern China through the summer. South Korea is the main destination market.

The deployment gives Tianjin another full-season cruise program from a Chinese operator and follows a scheduled shipyard period in Zhoushan for technical work and public-area upgrades. Tianjin International Cruise Home Port has a designed annual capacity of about 500,000 passengers and handled about 350,000 passengers in 2024.

South Korea itineraries anchor the Tianjin program

Adora Mediterranea’s Tianjin schedule includes four- and five-night cruises, along with two six-night departures. Calls are planned for Jeju, Incheon for Seoul, Busan and Yeosu.

“Tianjin is an important strategic hub for our continued expansion in northern China,” Adora Cruises said. The company said it wants to offer guests from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region “more convenient and diverse cruise vacation options.”

The line also tied the homeport program to its “cruise + culture” model, saying it plans to continue promoting cruise culture while supporting the regional cruise economy. From July 2 through the end of August, the ship is scheduled to host children’s and family activities and workshops inspired by Mediterranean culture and ancient Greek art.

Drydock work precedes the summer season

Before the Tianjin return, Adora Mediterranea entered COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) Co., Ltd.’s No. 2 drydock on May 7 for a scheduled 10-day maintenance and upgrade project. Peak Ocean is overseeing more than 1,650 square meters of interior refurbishment under a contract procured by Columbia Cruise Services on behalf of the shipowner.

The work focuses on the main galley, the Deck 9 Lido buffet restaurant and the spa area. The shipyard period also includes propulsion and machinery overhauls, structural repairs and a full hull repaint using silicone paint.

The project is COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan)’s 12th cruise ship drydock since entering the cruise repair market in 2017. Its prior cruise work has included Ovation of the Seas, Blue Dream Melody and Piano Land.

After the Zhoushan work, the ship was scheduled to reposition to Qingdao for a May 21 themed voyage from Qingdao International Cruise Home Port. The five-day, four-night sailing called at Busan and Jeju before the vessel’s move toward its main northern China program.

Adora Mediterranea has also been deployed elsewhere in China during 2026, including a five-night Xiamen sailing to Manila and Boracay in April. Adora Cruises also listed five four-night international voyages from Dalian across the May 26-June 3 and Oct. 11-19 windows, with the latter period immediately following the Tianjin season.
