66 Expeditions Names Samuel Gagnon to Lead Expedition Operations

Gagnon brings fifteen years in remote-area expedition travel to 66 Expeditions, which launched in late 2024 and operates Seaventure, the former Bremen.

66 Expeditions has appointed Samuel Gagnon as director of expedition operations, placing him in charge of the continued development and delivery of the China-based operator’s global expedition program. The role covers itinerary planning, voyage execution and coordination with expedition leaders, bridge teams, local partners and industry organizations.

Gagnon has 15 years of experience in remote-area expedition travel.

Remi Eriksen, vice president of ship operations, said Gagnon brings “extensive operational experience, strategic vision, and deep understanding of expedition travel” to the company’s leadership team. “As we continue to expand our global expedition portfolio, Samuel’s expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional experiences,” Eriksen said.

66 Expeditions said Gagnon’s background includes expedition planning, itinerary development, destination management, staffing, operational logistics, regulatory compliance, safety management and guest experience.

“I am excited to join 66 Expeditions at such an exciting stage of its development,” Gagnon said. He said he looks forward to working with the team on expedition programs built around “operational excellence, authentic discovery, and a deep respect for the natural and cultural environments” visited by the company.

Launched in late 2024, 66 Expeditions operates Seaventure, the former Bremen, which spent more than two decades with Hapag-Lloyd Cruises before sailing under charter for other brands.
