Valparaiso Schedules 30 Cruise Calls for 2026-27 Season
The season opened October 17 with HX Expeditions’ Fridtjof Nansen, arriving from Callao before sailing to Niebla; it is set to end April 15, 2027.
Valparaiso has scheduled 30 cruise calls for its 2026-27 season, a 25 percent increase over the previous season, according to Corporacion de Puertos del Conosur. The season opened on October 17 with the arrival of HX Expeditions’ Fridtjof Nansen at Terminal Puerto Valparaiso (TPV).
The schedule adds six calls to the previous season’s total of 24. The corporation’s vice president, Juan Marcos Mancilla, who also serves as Puerto Valparaiso’s logistics manager, welcomed the increase as good news for the city and Chile’s cruise industry.
Mancilla said the port and the corporation were working with tourism and port-sector stakeholders to “ensure this activity contributes to the development of the communities that receive cruise ships and of the country as a whole.” He also cited the corporation’s work to promote cruise activity nationally.
Fridtjof Nansen arrived from Callao, Peru, before continuing to Niebla in Chile’s Los Rios Region. During the Valparaiso call, the ship received visits from Valparaiso Mayor Camila Nieto and Vina del Mar Mayor Macarena Ripamonti.
Other visiting officials included Puerto Valparaiso Board Chair Gonzalo Le Dantec, regional Economy Minister Cristian Mella and Sernatur Director Carolina Carrasco. Corporacion de Puertos del Conosur Executive Secretary Eric Petri also welcomed the larger call schedule.
Valparaiso’s track record
The port recorded 35 vessels and more than 54,500 cruise passengers in 2023-24. At the terminal level, Terminal Pacifico Sur Valparaiso (TPS), the concessionaire operating Terminal 1, handled 10 calls and 6,976 cruise passengers during 2025-26.
Cruise ships can use both Terminals 1 and 2. Terminal de Pasajeros de Valparaiso (VTP) is the dedicated embarkation and disembarkation facility.
The season is scheduled to conclude with Roald Amundsen’s departure on April 15, 2027. During the season, Puerto Valparaiso also expects to receive its 900th cruise call and its 1.5 millionth visitor.
