Symphony of the Seas Adds Bahamas Calls From Galveston
Icon of the Seas is scheduled to begin year-round Galveston cruises in mid-August 2027, shortly after Symphony repositions to Fort Lauderdale.
Royal Caribbean International’s Symphony of the Seas is now operating alternating six- and eight-night cruises from Galveston, with the longer itineraries adding the Bahamas to a schedule that had focused on the Western Caribbean. The line introduced the expanded program in July and plans to continue it through late October 2026.
Symphony’s year-round Galveston program now includes Perfect Day at CocoCay. Selected eight-night departures also call at Nassau, where the company recently opened a private beach club near the cruise port.
Bahamas calls join Western Caribbean ports
The eight-night cruises combine the Bahamas with Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico. CocoCay is the principal Bahamas call across the program.
Symphony’s six-night voyages remain focused on the Western Caribbean, calling at Cozumel, Costa Maya and Coxen Hole on Roatan, Honduras.
The 228,081-gross-ton Oasis-class ship is approximately 1,188 feet long and carries 5,518 passengers at double occupancy, with maximum capacity of 6,680. Its crew complement is roughly 2,200 to 2,394.
Royal Caribbean reshapes its Texas lineup
Mariner of the Seas is also operating from Galveston, and Liberty of the Seas is scheduled to join Royal Caribbean’s Texas deployment before the 2026-27 winter season.
After the alternating schedule ends in late October 2026, Symphony is scheduled to return to a series of seven-night Western Caribbean cruises from Galveston. Symphony’s longer-term Galveston assignment has changed from Royal Caribbean’s initial plan. The ship is now scheduled to reposition to Fort Lauderdale in early August 2027, ending its Texas service.
