Regatta Begins 371-Day Voyage Billed as World's Longest Cruise
Regatta ended 23 years with Oceania Cruises on an August farewell cruise from Dubrovnik to Istanbul, five days before the charter began.
Explorations by Norwegian’s Regatta departed Civitavecchia, Italy, on Sept. 1, 2026, for a 371-day world cruise scheduled to visit 220 ports in 62 countries. The sailing, billed as the world’s longest cruise, spans six continents.
Its advertised duration exceeds Royal Caribbean International’s 274-night Ultimate World Cruise, which departed in December 2023 and visited 160 destinations. Explorations by Norwegian is also selling 24 regional segments for travelers unable to book the entire voyage.
A route from the Mediterranean to the Amazon
Regatta’s opening calls cover the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, including Naples, Santorini, Copenhagen and Helsinki. The ship then continues around Africa, with Cape Verde, Cape Town and Zanzibar among the scheduled destinations, before crossing the Indian Ocean and visiting ports in Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and East Asia.
The itinerary includes Hiroshima, Jeju Island, Colombo and Malé, along with visits timed for Norway’s Northern Lights and Japan’s cherry blossom season. After crossing the Pacific in mid-2027, Regatta is scheduled to sail in Alaska and along the West Coast before continuing through Central America and the Panama Canal.
The Americas portion also covers the Caribbean, the Amazon and North America’s East Coast. Regatta will later visit Greenland and Iceland before crossing the Atlantic for calls in the British Isles and Ireland.
Charter follows Regatta’s departure from Oceania
The 1998-built Regatta completed its final Oceania Cruises sailing in August, after 23 years with the brand. That 10-night farewell cruise departed Dubrovnik on Aug. 17 and ended in Istanbul on Aug. 27, five days before the world cruise began.
The 30,277-GT ship is approximately 594 feet long and carries about 684 passengers in 348 cabins, supported by roughly 400 crew members. Explorations by Norwegian was created by My Cruises, with Regatta chartered for the program in collaboration with Norwegian Cruise Line. Flight Centre Travel Group brands including Iglu Cruise and Cruise Club UK are distributing the product in Britain.
“It combines luxury onboard amenities with a boutique ship design to navigate exclusive, smaller ports that larger vessels cannot reach,” said David Gooch, chief executive of Iglu Cruise.
Booking the whole year, or part of it
Australian fares for the complete sailing began at about A$99,000, or approximately US$71,450, while higher accommodation categories approached A$250,000, or about US$180,410. A UK offer listed the full cruise from £56,000.
Bookings include a premium drinks package, Wi-Fi, prepaid gratuities, specialty dining and a $50 shore-excursion credit. Guests can choose among sightseeing, local discovery and active excursion categories.
Regatta’s facilities include a saltwater pool, whirlpools, a spa and salon, fitness amenities and a library containing more than 2,000 books. The ship’s smaller segments range from a 12-night Copenhagen-to-Southampton itinerary departing Oct. 19, 2026, to a 201-night Sydney-to-UK portion beginning Feb. 17, 2027.
The charter has been extended for another 365 days, keeping Regatta with Explorations by Norwegian into 2028. Listings also include a 367-day package departing Australia on Feb. 17, 2027, priced from A$119,990 per person and covering more than 230 ports.
