Over 200 Cruise Passengers Stranded in Cambodia After Fuel Runs Out

Journalist Cristian Benavides said the operator appeared to have lacked funds longer than initially understood, though his account included no statement from the operator.

The operator of a cruise ship that ran out of fuel in Cambodia appears to have been without funds for longer than initially understood. Passengers and residents were required to leave the vessel.

More than 200 passengers, most of them Americans, are stranded in Cambodia, according to journalist Cristian Benavides.

Benavides attributed the operator’s lack of funds to sharply higher fuel costs. His account did not include a statement from the operator or establish when the financial problems began.
