Mein Schiff 5 Brings 2,560 Tourists to Alexandria

After sailing from Heraklion, Greece, Mein Schiff 5 is scheduled to leave Alexandria for Rhodes on Sunday evening, with a cycling tour planned for some passengers.

TUI Cruises’ 98,785-gross-ton Mein Schiff 5 arrived at Alexandria, Egypt, on Sunday, September 27, 2026, carrying 2,560 tourists and 942 crew members. The ship sailed in from Heraklion, Greece.

Alexandria Port spokesperson Ahmed Bereqaa said cruise traffic at the port was increasing. Alexandria, he said, had the facilities to accommodate different types of cruise vessels and provide passenger services efficiently.

Port officials received the vessel in coordination with Egypt’s Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority also participated, alongside Alexandria Governorate through its Regional Tourism Promotion Authority.

The planned shore program includes archaeological and historical sites in Alexandria, Cairo and Giza. Visits will cover ancient Egyptian, Greco-Roman and Islamic heritage. A separate cycling tour has been arranged for some passengers to explore Alexandria’s landmarks.

Mein Schiff 5 is scheduled to leave Alexandria on Sunday evening, continuing to the Greek port of Rhodes.
