Heritage Expeditions Opens Sales for New Discoverer Voyages

The former Silver Explorer is slated for a twenty-one-day preview cruise roundtrip from Ushuaia from November 19 to December 9, 2026, before the new season.

Heritage Expeditions will open sales July 28 for seven new voyages in Heritage Discoverer’s first 2027-28 season with the company, adding High Arctic, Antarctic Peninsula and European/Atlantic coastal itineraries to the former Silver Explorer’s schedule. The ship is also scheduled for a 21-day preview voyage from Nov. 19 to Dec. 9, 2026, sailing roundtrip from Ushuaia.

The 144-guest Heritage Discoverer joins a fleet that also includes the 140-guest Heritage Adventurer and the 18-guest Heritage Explorer. The ship was built in 1989 and is listed at 6,072 gt, 354 feet in length and about 118 crew in its refit-era configuration.

Aaron Russ, Heritage Expeditions owner and director, said the program is “an exciting evolution of Heritage Expeditions as we chart a new course.” Russ said the company is preparing to “return to some familiar shores” aboard Heritage Discoverer while adding voyages in less familiar waters.

European and North Atlantic sailings start the program

The European and Atlantic sequence begins with Atlantic Shores Odyssey, a 12-day Lisbon-to-Portsmouth sailing from May 2-13, 2027, covering Portugal, Spain, France, Guernsey, Sark and the United Kingdom. The 12-day British Isles, Ireland & Scotland Expedition follows from May 12-23, sailing Portsmouth to Glasgow with routing through England, Ireland, Wales, the Channel Islands, the Hebrides, St Kilda, the Isles of Scilly, the Isle of Man, Skye, Rum, Iona and Islay.

Heritage then lists a 13-day Scotland, Faroe Islands & Iceland voyage from Glasgow to Reykjavik, May 22-June 3, with the Outer Hebrides, Orkney, Shetland and the Faroes included in the program. Iceland’s Fire & Ice Circumnavigation is scheduled June 2-12 roundtrip from Reykjavik, followed by the 15-day Svalbard, Greenland & Iceland Arctic Islands Expedition from July 21-Aug. 4, 2027, listed from Paris to Reykjavik with a pre-voyage night in Paris.

The European coastal calls visit UNESCO World Heritage sites, prehistoric monuments, cultural centers and wine regions.

Ushuaia departures cover Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falklands

The Antarctic Peninsula program includes four 11- or 12-day roundtrips from Ushuaia: Nov. 22-Dec. 3, Dec. 2-13 and Dec. 12-22, 2027, and Jan. 10-20, 2028. Those sailings also take in the South Shetland Islands.

Heritage also scheduled two 22-day South Georgia, Falklands & Antarctic Peninsula roundtrips from Ushuaia, on Nov. 2-23, 2027, and Dec. 21, 2027-Jan. 11, 2028. The company timed those voyages for the arrival of breeding season and longer daylight hours in the region.

Guests and agents can receive 20 percent off all berths, with returning guests eligible for an additional 10 percent discount on bookings made by Aug. 31, 2026. Starting fares were not included in the announcement.
