Carnival Sunrise Swaps Princess Cays for Half Moon Cay in 2026
Prepaid Princess Cays excursions will be canceled and refunded automatically, and guests can book Half Moon Cay options online, in the Hub app or on Deck Three.
Carnival Cruise Line has replaced Princess Cays with RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay on Carnival Sunrise’s five-night cruise departing Miami on October 31, 2026. The replacement call will take place on November 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., keeping the date and hours originally assigned to Princess Cays.
The Halloween sailing will still visit two private destinations and Nassau, with no other itinerary changes announced. Carnival notified booked guests by email but has not explained the reason for the substitution.
Excursion refunds and the remaining itinerary
Carnival will automatically cancel prepaid shore excursions at Princess Cays and refund them to the original payment method. Guests can book excursions for the replacement destination through Carnival’s website or the Carnival Hub app before departure, or at the onboard Carnival Adventures desk on Deck 3.
The ship remains scheduled to leave Miami at 3:30 p.m. Calls at Nassau on November 3 and Celebration Key on November 4 will each run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Carnival Sunrise is due back in Miami by 8 a.m. on November 5. No adjustments to the ship’s onboard activities or operations have been announced.
Carnival Sunrise sails year-round from PortMiami on four- and five-night Bahamas cruises that visit Nassau and private destinations in the island nation.
Two resorts about 15 miles apart
Princess Cays, on the southern tip of Eleuthera, is approximately 15 miles from Half Moon Cay, although the resorts are on different islands. Both lie southeast of Nassau and receive ships from brands within Carnival Corporation & plc, including Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Holland America Line.
Both destinations offer beach activities, including watersports and snorkeling. Half Moon Cay provides loungers, umbrellas and towels free of charge and rents out cabanas, daybeds and beach villas. The destination also has dining venues and tram service linking areas of the island.
Other schedule changes
Carnival has made the same Princess Cays-to-Half Moon Cay substitution for Carnival Paradise’s November 9, 2026 departure from Tampa. Carnival Spirit’s November 8, 2026 sailing from Mobile received the same change as part of itinerary adjustments made in late August.
Other revisions involving Half Moon Cay have affected Carnival Legend, Carnival Elation and Carnival Conquest, including changes to call dates or time in port.
Princess Cruises, the sister brand, currently has no calls at Princess Cays scheduled from November 2026 onward. It has not explained that change either.
