Carnival Opens 2028-29 West Coast Cruises for Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico

Carnival Spirit will open its West Coast deployment with a 16-day Panama Canal voyage from Tampa on April 16, 2028, before beginning its Seattle Alaska schedule.

Carnival Cruise Line has opened bookings for its 2028/29 West Coast deployment, covering Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico aboard Carnival Adventure, Carnival Legend and Carnival Spirit. The release includes departures from Seattle, San Francisco and Long Beach, with longer itineraries offered through the Carnival Journeys program. Carnival did not include starting fares or an executive statement with the announcement.

Carnival Adventure will move seasonally from Australia for its first Alaska season, operating from Seattle from May through September 2028.

Alaska schedules from Seattle and San Francisco

Carnival Adventure will offer 18 seven-day Alaska cruises departing between May 9 and Sept. 5. Carnival Spirit will operate another 18 weeklong departures from Seattle between May 11 and Sept. 7. Both programs call at Victoria, British Columbia, and the Alaska ports of Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, with scenic cruising in Endicott Arm Fjord.

The Seattle schedule also includes nine-day Carnival Journeys Alaska departures aboard Carnival Adventure on Sept. 12 and Carnival Spirit on Sept. 14. Spirit’s longer Alaska offerings include destinations such as Sitka and Icy Strait Point.

Carnival Legend will operate nine 10-day Alaska cruises from San Francisco between May 15 and Sept. 4. Its itinerary combines Juneau and Skagway with Ketchikan’s Ward Cove and Prince Rupert, British Columbia, plus scenic cruising in Endicott Arm Fjord. A separate 13-day Carnival Journeys Alaska voyage departs April 28.

Longer voyages and Mexico departures

Carnival Spirit will begin its West Coast deployment with a 16-day Carnival Journeys Panama Canal sailing departing Tampa on April 16, 2028. That voyage precedes the ship’s Seattle-based Alaska schedule.

Two other extended departures will take passengers to Hawaii after the summer Alaska programs. Carnival Legend has a 15-day Carnival Journeys Hawaii cruise departing Sept. 14, while Carnival Adventure will sail a 16-day Hawaii itinerary on Sept. 21.

For shorter sailings from San Francisco, Carnival Legend will offer 10 four-day Baja Mexico cruises between April and August 2028, each visiting Ensenada.

Carnival Spirit will reposition to Long Beach in October 2028 for a Hawaii and Mexico program continuing through spring 2029. Its schedule includes 11 Carnival Journeys Hawaii sailings, with visits to Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Hawaii Island.

The Long Beach deployment will also include three-day Baja Mexico cruises and five-day Mexican Riviera itineraries. Selected eight-day Mexican Riviera departures will visit Cabo San Lucas, La Paz, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.
