Azamara Launches New Entertainment Slate on Pursuit
Azamara is using entertainment to deepen its destination-focused identity, showing how smaller premium lines are turning onboard culture into a sharper point of differentiation.
Azamara Cruises has launched a new onboard entertainment slate developed with live-entertainment producer RWS Global, starting with Azamara Pursuit and scheduled to expand across the line's four-ship fleet through early 2027. The program adds four original stage productions, including two shows created exclusively for Pursuit.
Azamara Pursuit debuted the new productions April 10 during a Japan Intensive voyage visiting Kobe, Nagasaki and Tokyo. The 30,277-gross-ton Pursuit is the first ship to carry the new slate.
Pursuit opens the program with two exclusive shows
"Our commitment to Destination Immersion extends to every aspect of the guest experience, including our evenings onboard," said Simon Blacoe, vice president of hotel operations at Azamara. Pursuit was the first ship to introduce the program, he said, as Azamara brings more destination-linked cultural references into its onboard performances.
The Pursuit-exclusive titles are Viva Vegas and Yesterday, Today and Forever. Viva Vegas is a 40-minute concert-style production drawing on classic Las Vegas lounge entertainment and contemporary pop staging. Yesterday, Today and Forever is a Beatles tribute built around the band's music, period costuming and interactive staging.
Azamara's fleet consists of four ships, each carrying up to about 700 guests. The entertainment program is being introduced across the full fleet rather than confined to a single vessel. Pursuit keeps the two exclusive productions onboard.
Fleetwide titles move to Journey, Quest and Onward
Two productions are planned for broader fleet rollout: Written in the Stars and Vinyl Records: The Studio Sessions. Written in the Stars follows two star-crossed lovers in a theatrical format. Vinyl Records: The Studio Sessions places dancers and live musicians inside a vintage recording-studio setting.
Azamara Journey is scheduled to receive the fleetwide shows on May 21, 2026. Azamara Quest follows in November 2026, and Azamara Onward is scheduled for March 2027.
