Allure of the Seas Skips Falmouth After Propulsion Issue
The current cruise remains scheduled to return to Port Everglades on May 30, with an eight-day Eastern Caribbean voyage still set to depart later that day.
Royal Caribbean International canceled Allure of the Seas’ scheduled call at Falmouth, Jamaica, on May 27, 2026, after a technical issue with one propulsion system forced the ship to operate at reduced speed during a six-night sailing from Port Everglades. The 2010-built ship is replacing the Jamaica call with an additional full day in Nassau, Bahamas.
The change removes one of the itinerary’s three planned port calls but leaves the scheduled sea day and original Nassau visit in place. Royal Caribbean is providing onboard credits by cabin category and automatic refunds for Falmouth shore excursions booked through the line.
Falmouth replaced by two Nassau calls
Royal Caribbean told passengers: “We are currently experiencing a technical issue with one of our propulsion systems.” The line said the ship would sail at lower speed while its team worked on the issue.
Allure of the Seas departed Port Everglades on May 24 for an itinerary that included Perfect Day at CocoCay, Falmouth and Nassau. The CocoCay call took place as scheduled on May 25.
The ship docked in Nassau at 1:45 a.m. on May 27. Passengers could begin going ashore around 7:30 a.m. after clearance and gangway setup, with departure set for 5:30 p.m.
Allure of the Seas will spend May 28 at sea as originally planned and return to Nassau on May 29 for the call already on the schedule. Passengers were directed to the shore excursions desk on Deck 6 and the Royal Caribbean app for additional Nassau activity options.
Credits and excursion refunds
“We’re terribly sorry for this last-minute change. Please know that your safety and comfort are always our top priorities,” Royal Caribbean told passengers.
Guests in inside and oceanview cabins will receive $100 in onboard credit. Balcony staterooms will receive $150, suites will receive $200, and third and fourth passengers in a stateroom will receive an additional $50 each.
Prepaid Royal Caribbean shore excursions for Falmouth will be automatically refunded as refundable onboard credit. Unused refundable credit is set to be returned to the guest’s card on file within 14 days after disembarkation.
The ship and what comes next
Allure of the Seas is a 225,282-gross-ton Oasis-class ship measuring 1,187 feet long and 215 feet wide, with capacity generally listed at about 5,500 guests at double occupancy. Its propulsion arrangement includes three ABB Azipod units and bow thrusters; Royal Caribbean described the problem only as involving one propulsion system.
The current cruise remains scheduled to return to Port Everglades on May 30. Royal Caribbean has not issued a change for Allure of the Seas’ next voyage, an eight-day Eastern Caribbean cruise scheduled to depart from Port Everglades later that day.
