Windstar Sets 25 Star Seeker Asia Sailings for 2028-29
Star Seeker carries two hundred twenty-four guests in one hundred twelve suites, a size Windstar says helps it dock closer to cultural centers.
Windstar Cruises has released its 2028-29 Asia season for Star Seeker, scheduling 25 departures from September 2028 through May 2029 across Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Singapore. The program combines four core cruise-only itineraries with Star Collector sailings of 20 to 42 days and Cruise Tours linked to Hanoi, Angkor Wat, Chiang Mai and Kyoto.
The line tied the routing to Star Seeker’s size. Star Seeker carries 224 guests in 112 suites, measures 413 feet and has a gross tonnage of 9,939.
"We're seeing extraordinary enthusiasm for Asia, with bookings significantly outpacing previous years," said Janet Bava, chief commercial officer at Windstar Cruises. Bava said travelers want trips that feel "more immersive and personal," with Star Seeker able to "dock closer to the cultural centers of cities like Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City" and visit smaller ports across the region.
Core routes span Japan and Southeast Asia
The 10-night Grand Japan itinerary operates from Tokyo toward Osaka and Kyoto, pairing major Japanese cities with smaller ports such as Karatsu and cruising in the Inland Sea. Another 10-night cruise-only route, East Asian Legends, links Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan with calls including Taipei, Okinawa, Amami and Ishigaki.
In Southeast Asia, Vietnam & Cambodia Revealed includes overnights in Ho Chi Minh City and Halong Bay/Hanoi, with Angkor Wat available through optional overland arrangements. Tantalizing Thailand & Sparkling Singapore is an 11-night cruise-only sailing between Bangkok and Phuket that includes an overnight stay in Singapore.
The land-inclusive product includes Legendary Temples: Chiang Mai & Angkor Wat, an 18-night Cruise Tour that pairs a Southeast Asia sailing with three nights in Chiang Mai and a guided visit to Angkor Wat. Windstar is also offering pre- and post-cruise Cruise Tours tied to the same destinations.
Longer Star Collector sailings extend to 41 nights
Windstar’s Star Collector product combines two or more itineraries into longer sailings of at least 13 days. In the 2028-29 Asia season, those combinations range from 20 to 42 days.
The longest named option is Grand Asia Explorer, a 41-night Star Collector journey between Phuket and Tokyo. The sailing combines multiple Asia itineraries and includes overnight stays in four cities, along with cruising on the Saigon and Chao Phraya rivers.
For bookings made by July 31, 2026, Windstar is offering the Complimentary All-Inclusive Package, $100 in onboard credit per guest and a 5 percent fare reduction when the cruise fare is paid in full at booking. The offer also includes early stateroom selection. Windstar did not include starting fares in the announcement.
