Transcend Cruises Sets August Launch for Corporate River Ship
Connect’s sixty identical staterooms can convert into thirty two-room suites, and five onboard venues can accommodate the full capacity of one hundred twenty people.
Transcend Cruises is preparing to launch Connect this August, with executives describing the 120-guest European river vessel as the first purpose-built river ship for corporate groups, meetings and incentive programs. The North Miami-based company, founded in 2024, is positioning the ship as the first step in an eventual 12-vessel fleet built for full-ship charters.
The program targets a corporate travel segment. Matthew Shollar, chief visionary officer, said he has spent 25 years in and around cruising and found that “everything was consumer focused” before Transcend.
Charter-only sailings target corporate buyers
Every Transcend sailing will be sold as a full-ship charter. Shollar said the company works with corporate brokers, but added: “Travel managers and TMCs should feel free to contact us directly.”
Kimberley Daley, chief operating officer, said group travel planners “shouldn’t be scared of the word charter.” Transcend sets a net price, after which clients can customize excursions, schedules and onboard programming, including single-night sailings or using the ship as a floating hotel in port.
“We are the brand behind the business,” Daley said. Exterior screens on both sides of the vessel can display client graphics or messages, while onboard systems include digital signage and customizable lighting, sound and imagery.
Connect is configured for flexible group sizes
Connect has 60 identical 210-square-foot staterooms across three decks, with connecting layouts that can convert the inventory into 30 two-room, 420-square-foot suites. The roughly 442-foot vessel has a 38-foot beam, and its attendee capacity can range from 30 to 120 depending on how the cabins are configured.
The ship is expected to sail with 54 crew. Transcend says its vessels carry up to 60% fewer guests than retail-focused European river cruise lines, with the lower passenger count intended to support corporate group service and event operations.
Onboard meeting and event space includes five venues able to accommodate the full 120-person capacity. The Forum is a two-story amphitheater designed for group programs, presentations, concerts and performances, while the Studio on the first deck can be arranged for meetings in multiple formats.
The ship also includes a 2,600-square-foot indoor-outdoor wellness area with fitness and spa facilities. Food and beverage spaces include three dining venues and multiple bar or beverage areas.
Transcend’s second vessel, Evolve, is scheduled to follow in May 2027. Create is due in late 2027, with Engage scheduled for early 2028.
