As Caribbean sailings from Miami get more crowded, Margaritaville is betting on shipwide nightlife and a celebrity-curated music hall to stand out beyond itineraries.

Margaritaville at Sea has detailed an expanded bar-and-lounge lineup for Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber, the cruise line’s next ship, ahead of its planned debut from PortMiami in early 2027. The company says the program will add new drink-focused venues while also bringing back several familiar concepts from its current ships.

How Beachcomber’s nightlife plan is taking shape

The cruise line, inspired by the laid-back lifestyle and music of Jimmy Buffett, is positioning bars, lounges, and live music as a central part of Beachcomber’s onboard entertainment. Eric Neuwirth, vice president of food and beverage at Margaritaville at Sea, said the bars are designed to be “social and approachable,” adding that “each venue has its own identity” while maintaining hospitality intended to encourage guests to “linger, connect, and return.”

Margaritaville at Sea has also framed the new venues as a way to spread activity around the ship, from pool-deck options to late-night spaces, rather than concentrating nightlife in a single area.

New venues include cocktail hideaways, poolside drinks, and all-ages options

In its preview of Beachcomber, the company has described seven new bar-and-lounge venues, ranging from an intimate speakeasy to a dedicated juice-and-mocktail option. In addition, Beachcomber will feature Floridays, a food-and-cocktails concept built around shareable fare.

  • Cowboy in the Jungle: An intimate, speakeasy-style venue with limited seating and a first-come, first-served approach, focused on elevated cocktails built around rum and agave-based spirits.
  • Daiquiri Shack: A poolside bar centered on frozen classics and custom blends, with eight rotating options available at a time.
  • Polynesian Lounge: A tiki-inspired cocktail menu paired with live entertainment and rotating programming.
  • Flip Flop Bar: Located beneath the ship’s shopping promenade, positioned as a central day-to-night gathering spot with live performances and entertainment.
  • LandShark Sports Bar: A game-day viewing venue with big screens, draft beer, and bar snacks.
  • Lah De Dah Juice Bar: A venue for freshly blended juices, smoothies, and mocktails, located between the Teen Club and the spa and aimed at guests coming from workouts or spa treatments.
  • The Front Yard: An outdoor lounge built around aperitifs and a curated spritz menu, with lighter cocktail options.
  • Floridays: A restaurant-and-lounge concept with shareable coastal fare and cocktails inspired by Florida culinary themes, including items such as fresh seafood and tapas, plus group-friendly drink options including sangria.

“Same Boat” live music venue created with Zac Brown

Live music is set to be anchored by Same Boat, which Margaritaville at Sea describes as the ship’s largest live music venue. The space is being created in partnership with musician Zac Brown, a multi-platinum, three-time GRAMMY winner, and the cruise line says Brown is curating elements of the venue including its design, artwork, and music programming to reflect his musical journey.

Returning favorites and nearby poolside dining

Alongside new concepts, the company says Beachcomber will also include established venues carried over from other Margaritaville at Sea ships: Hemisphere Dancer Craft Spirits, License to Chill Bar, and the brand’s 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar.

Margaritaville at Sea has positioned 5 o’Clock Somewhere near new poolside dining options, including Cheeseburger in Paradise Burger Bar and Mexican Cutie Cantina, and says the area will include adults-only cabanas with dedicated bar service.

Ship conversion, size, and Caribbean deployment plans

Beachcomber is being reconfigured from Costa Cruises’ former Costa Fortuna and will be updated with Margaritaville at Sea’s island-inspired design. The 102,587-gross-ton ship is slated to be the largest in the Margaritaville at Sea fleet, with double-occupancy capacity listed at 2,702 passengers.

Once it enters service from PortMiami in early 2027, the ship is expected to sail a mix of six- and eight-night Caribbean itineraries. The cruise line has cited destinations such as Key West, Freeport, and Nassau, and said additional details on accommodations, onboard amenities, dining, and booking specifics will be released closer to launch. Beachcomber will join Margaritaville at Sea Paradise and Margaritaville Islander in the brand’s lineup.

Fleet updates: Paradise drydock and High Tide Market

Ahead of Beachcomber’s arrival, Margaritaville at Sea is also updating Margaritaville at Sea Paradise during a drydock at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport, the Bahamas. The 1991-built ship is undergoing routine maintenance and public area updates, and the company says a new dining venue, High Tide Market, will replace the ship’s traditional buffet with a modern, self-service, food-hall-inspired setup.

Originally built as Costa Classica for Costa Cruises, Paradise was the first ship to join the Margaritaville at Sea family in 2022. The ship is scheduled to resume service on January 20, 2026, operating a new schedule of three- and four-night itineraries from Palm Beach, Florida, to ports in the Bahamas and Florida. Margaritaville at Sea has also said High Tide Market will later debut on Beachcomber.
