Hanseatic Spirit Returns to Service After Bremerhaven Drydock
After leaving the floating dock on June 5, Hanseatic Spirit embarked guests at Columbuskaje for an eight-day Bremerhaven-to-Hamburg voyage scheduled to arrive June 13, 2026.
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ Hanseatic Spirit has returned to service after its first scheduled drydocking for the line, a 10-day yard period at Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven that refreshed public spaces, spa areas and selected cabin showers. The ship left the floating dock on June 5 and embarked guests at the Columbuskaje pier for its first post-yard voyage later the same day.
The planned work centered on guest-facing areas, with restaurant, lounge, reception and wellness spaces updated under the line’s “inspired by nature” interior concept.
“Hapag-Lloyd Cruises enjoys a trusting partnership with Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven,” said Isolde Susset, managing director at Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. “The renovations onboard the Hanseatic Spirit demonstrate the professional and dedicated way in which the Lloyd Werft team works.”
In the spa, the Finnish sauna received a new heater, and mosaic walls in the showers and steam bath were refurbished. Hapag-Lloyd also renewed some showers in cabins and suites.
The work extended to several of the ship’s main public venues. The Hanseatic Restaurant received new paint and carpeting, while the French specialty restaurant L’Esprit, the Observation Lounge and the reception area were fitted with new floors.
Hanseatic Spirit carries up to 230 guests on standard sailings, with capacity reduced to 199 guests on Antarctic and other polar expedition voyages. The roughly 15,600-GT, 138-meter ship has 120 staterooms and PC6 ice class.
Lloyd Werft, a Bremerhaven repair, conversion and refit yard with roots dating to 1857, handled the drydocking. The yard period was completed in time for Hanseatic Spirit to start an eight-day itinerary from Bremerhaven to Hamburg, with calls scheduled at Rotterdam, Scheveningen, Zeebrugge, Texel, Sylt and Helgoland before arrival on June 13, 2026.
The ship’s next scheduled departure is a 10-day “Wild Scotland” expedition on June 21. Hanseatic Spirit is then due to begin its Arctic season.
