Royal Caribbean to Debut America’s Got Talent LIVE at Sea in 2026
A major talent franchise at sea shows how cruise lines are turning new ships into floating entertainment districts, using familiar brands to stand out.
Royal Caribbean plans to bring the America’s Got Talent franchise to sea for the first time with America’s Got Talent LIVE aboard Legend of the Seas, with the stage production set to debut in August 2026.
The show will be presented in the ship’s Royal Theater and is slated to roll out during Legend of the Seas’ first summer in the Mediterranean before continuing when the vessel shifts to Caribbean itineraries from Fort Lauderdale in November 2026.
America’s Got Talent LIVE: format, performers, and the at-sea concept
Royal Caribbean says America’s Got Talent LIVE will feature a rotating lineup of acts drawn from the broader Got Talent universe. The cruise line has indicated the roster will span multiple disciplines, including magicians, musicians, acrobats, aerialists, and other variety-style performers, with the goal of keeping performances distinct from one sailing to the next.
Christine Coachman, Royal Caribbean’s Vice President of Entertainment, framed the new headliner production as part of a wider push to expand venue-based programming across its newest ships. “At Royal Caribbean, we are constantly redefining live entertainment at every turn, bringing jaw-dropping performances to life across stage, air, water, and ice. America’s Got Talent LIVE on Legend of the Seas is the perfect expression of that vision,” Coachman said.
Royal Caribbean has described the onboard version as a live showcase tailored for a cruise setting, and the company has not detailed whether it will include audience voting or other interactive competition elements associated with televised talent formats.
Fremantle partnership brings the franchise onboard
The production is being created in partnership with Fremantle, the company behind the global Got Talent brand. Erica Gadecki, Executive Vice President of Partnership Solutions at Fremantle, said the collaboration is designed to translate the franchise into an at-sea environment.
“We’re thrilled to bring Got Talent to an all-new at-sea experience as we set sail with Royal Caribbean. We can’t wait to showcase incredible acts on a brand-new stage onboard, creating an unforgettable experience for fans,” Gadecki said.
A multi-venue entertainment lineup beyond the main theater
Royal Caribbean has also outlined a broader entertainment slate for Legend of the Seas, which it has described as a “floating entertainment hub.” In addition to America’s Got Talent LIVE in the Royal Theater, the ship is scheduled to feature a stage production of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, along with programming designed for signature venues beyond the main theater.
- Water-focused shows in the AquaTheater are expected to include performers such as high divers, robots, dancers, and aerialists.
- Ice performances are planned for Absolute Zero, which Royal Caribbean describes as the largest ice arena at sea.
The ship’s entertainment and nightlife venues are also set to include spaces such as the Hollywoodland Supper Club, Silk Routes at the Royal Railway Legend Station, and live music offerings including the jazz-focused Lou’s and the interactive Dueling Pianos.
Royal Caribbean also highlighted a range of onboard attractions and amenities, including the Thrill Island waterpark, the Ultimate Abyss slide, miniature golf, and the Royal Casino.
Where Legend of the Seas will sail in 2026 and 2027
Legend of the Seas is scheduled to debut in July 2026 with seven-night Western Mediterranean itineraries sailing from Barcelona, Spain, and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy. Royal Caribbean’s itinerary details for the Mediterranean season include stops in Marseille (Provence), France; Naples, Italy; and Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
The ship is then scheduled to reposition to the Caribbean in November 2026, beginning sailings from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Royal Caribbean’s Caribbean program includes six-night Western Caribbean and eight-night Southern Caribbean itineraries, with ports of call listed as Aruba, Curaçao, and Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas, the cruise line’s private island destination.
After launching from Fort Lauderdale, the ship is scheduled to operate Caribbean itineraries into April 2027, with a return to the Mediterranean planned for summer 2027.
Ship status and scale
Royal Caribbean describes Legend of the Seas as the third ship in its Icon Class. The 250,800-gross-ton vessel is under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland; the cruise line said the ship was floated out in September 2025 and is currently in the outfitting phase.
Royal Caribbean has said the ship is designed to accommodate as many as 7,600 guests. America’s Got Talent LIVE is scheduled to begin onboard in August 2026, shortly after the ship’s planned July 2026 debut in the Mediterranean, and the production is expected to continue as the ship transitions to its Fort Lauderdale-based Caribbean season in November.
