Princess to Debut Handshake Speakeasy Cocktails on Star Princess
Princess is betting award winning bar talent and celebrity rosé can make drinks a destination as cruise lines increasingly compete for premium onboard spending.
Princess Cruises is expanding its onboard beverage program with a new collaboration with Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy, bringing five exclusive cocktails to Star Princess beginning Nov. 14, 2025, before a planned rollout across the line’s 17-ship fleet.
The cruise line is also adding Hampton Water Rosé, co-founded by Jesse Bongiovi and Jon Bon Jovi with winemaker Gerard Bertrand, to its Love Line Premium Liquors Collection as part of a wider push to refresh its wine and cocktail offerings.
Handshake Speakeasy cocktails: Star Princess debut followed by fleetwide expansion
Princess said the partnership with Handshake Speakeasy marks the bar’s first venture with a cruise line, centered on a set of drinks created by Handshake’s mixologists for Princess ships. Sami Kohen, Princess Cruises’ vice president of food and beverage, described the goal as bringing high-end cocktail culture onboard, saying, “These are cocktails you simply can’t get anywhere else in the world.”
After the Star Princess launch on Nov. 14, 2025, Princess plans to introduce the same five cocktails across all 17 ships in the weeks that follow.
On Star Princess, the menu is split between two onboard venues: three cocktails will be served at Crooners, while two will be reserved for guests of The Sanctuary Collection at The Sanctuary Club.
The five Handshake cocktails and where guests can order them
- Crooners: Pan Am Punch: Bacardi Superior rum, Aperol, lemon, orgeat.
- Crooners: Green Tea: Bombay Sapphire gin, lemon, vanilla, coconut, matcha tea.
- Crooners: Banana Bread O.F.: Rittenhouse rye whiskey, banana, walnut brown butter, maple.
- The Sanctuary Club (The Sanctuary Collection): Hibiscus & Spice: Pantalones tequila blanco, hibiscus, lime, cinnamon, Cointreau, vanilla.
- The Sanctuary Club (The Sanctuary Collection): Red Fruit & Roses: Elyx vodka, strawberry, rose water, jasmine tea, lime.
Mexico City filming builds a “story in every sip”
Princess is also pairing the onboard menu with a digital storytelling component filmed in Mexico City featuring Rob Floyd, Princess Cruises’ global mixologist ambassador. The content follows Floyd as he visits markets while Handshake co-owner and lead mixologist Eric Van Beek develops cocktails intended to reflect the bar’s approach and local influences.
Floyd described the concept as more than a recipe collaboration, saying, “It’s about telling a story in every sip,” and adding that the drinks are designed to carry “the soul of Mexico City’s vibrant bar culture.”
Handshake Speakeasy co-owner Rodrigo Urraca said the effort is meant to broaden exposure to the bar’s style, calling it a chance “to bring a piece of Handshake to more guests” through the partnership with Princess.
Hampton Water Rosé added to Princess’ Love Line beverage lineup
Separately, Princess said Hampton Water Rosé has joined its Love Line Premium Liquors Collection, a fleetwide lineup that includes celebrity-crafted and premium beverages. The cruise line said the Hampton Water partnership includes both still and sparkling rosé.
Kohen said the new offering aligns with the brand’s onboard positioning: “Hampton Water Rosé is more than a wine; it’s a reflection of the lifestyle our guests embrace: vibrant, celebratory, and inspired by the stars they love.”
Princess’ Love Line Premium Liquors Collection also includes Meili Vodka by Jason Momoa and Blaine Halvorson, Pantalones Organic Tequila by Camila and Matthew McConaughey, and Sláinte Irish Whiskey by Liev Schreiber. Princess said Hampton Water wines are available in its beverage packages, including the Princess Premier and Princess Plus tiers.
The new Handshake cocktail menu is scheduled to begin service on Star Princess on Nov. 14, 2025, with Princess planning to extend the offering across the fleet in the weeks after the debut.
