Hurtigruten Adds 2026 Nordic Voyages Mixing Sailing and Land Tours
Hurtigruten is leaning into the shift toward slower, experience-first Arctic travel. By blending ship time with overland stays, it sharpens its edge in Nordic cruising.
Hurtigruten has added new voyages for its 2026 season across Norway, Svalbard and Iceland, pairing expanded touring formats with wave-season promotions aimed at both travelers and travel advisors. CEO Hedda Felin said the lineup is designed “to deepen our guests' connection to the Nordic and Arctic regions” and create “more meaningful ways to explore the North.”
A 2026 lineup that blends coastal sailing with land touring
Across the newly announced options, Hurtigruten is combining classic Norwegian coastal sailing with overland components such as rail journeys, flights between regions and overnight stays in northern accommodations, including the Kirkenes Snowhotel. Felin said the itineraries are meant to help guests “slow down, travel with purpose, and engage more deeply with the places and cultures” of the Nordic and Arctic regions.
The new routes run from 10 to 19 days, with inclusions that range from fjord rail travel to far-north experiences such as king crab fishing and wildlife touring during the Midnight Sun season.
Four new itineraries, with routing and headline inclusions
Hurtigruten detailed four itineraries for 2026, spanning Norway-only trips, a Norway-to-Svalbard route, and a longer program linking Finland, Norway and Iceland.
- Discover Norway with Summer Arctic Cabin Adventure (10 days): Starts in Oslo and includes a five-night Coastal Express voyage to Bergen, plus an overnight stay in a luxury Arctic fishing cabin at the Kirkenes Snowhotel and king crab fishing; from €2,480 per person.
- Best of Norway (12 days): Begins with two nights in Oslo, then flies to Kirkenes before sailing south on the Coastal Express to Bergen; returns to Oslo via the Flåm Railway and includes a fjord cruise in a UNESCO-listed fjord area; from €2,479 per person.
- Arctic Norway Frontier Tour (13 days): Launching in May 2026, this Oslo-to-Longyearbyen itinerary links the Flåm Railway and fjord cruising with a full northbound coastal voyage past the Lofoten Islands, Tromsø and the North Cape, then crosses the Barents Sea to Svalbard; includes a hybrid catamaran glacier and wildlife tour and a 14-course tasting menu at Huset; from 4,326 per person.
- Grand Nordic Adventure (19 days): Starts in Helsinki and travels through Finland toward northern Norway with stays in Arctic retreats and time at the Kirkenes Snowhotel, then continues with a scenic sail to Bergen and a flight to Iceland for a guided, six-day exploration focused on volcanic landscapes; from €5,995 per person.
A focus on the Coastal Express, plus Signature Voyages in the far north
Several of the new routes incorporate the Coastal Express, Hurtigruten’s longstanding Norwegian coastal operation that has run since 1893. The company is also continuing to build out its Signature Voyages, which it positions alongside the Original Coastal Express program.
Hurtigruten said it is doubling sailings on the Svalbard Line in 2026 after demand following the route’s 2023 debut. The company described the Svalbard Line sailings as operating during the Midnight Sun season and crossing the Barents Sea, giving passengers expanded opportunities to visit Svalbard during the period of extended daylight.
Wave-season discounts, onboard credit, and trade incentives
Alongside itinerary additions, Hurtigruten outlined wave-season promotions for UK travelers, with savings of up to 30% on select voyages departing between January 2026 and March 2027. Bookings under the campaign must be made by February 28, 2026.
Iain Powell, Hurtigruten’s Chief Commercial Officer, said the promotion “allows us to offer trade partners and guests strong value across both Signature and Original voyages.” The company said the offer includes discounts on Original Coastal Express sailings and on Signature Voyages such as the Svalbard Line and North Cape Line, with savings of up to 30% on full 12-day and shorter six- or seven-day coastal sailings and up to 25% on select Svalbard and North Cape departures.
Hurtigruten also said certain itineraries include a €250 onboard credit, including Follow the Northern Lights and the Original Astronomy Voyage.
For travel advisors, the company introduced a “Sell Three, Sail Free” promotion that awards free cruises to agents who book at least three cabins before March 1, 2026. Carly Biggart, Head of Hurtigruten in the Americas, said the company is reinforcing its trade support with exclusive promotional tools intended to maximize value for advisors and their clients. Hurtigruten also cited reduced single supplements on select sailings for solo travelers.
The company added that it has launched a dedicated promotional portal for advisors, with monthly updates aimed at consolidating offers, tools and resources.
