Aman Opens Amangati Bookings for 2027 Mediterranean Voyages
Aman’s move into yachting signals a broader land-to-sea push by luxury hotel brands, as ultra-small ships chase event weeks and ports big cruise liners miss.
Aman at Sea has opened reservations for Amangati, the Aman brand’s first luxury yacht, with an inaugural Mediterranean program of five- to eight-night voyages scheduled to begin in spring 2027.
The 183-meter, 23,000-ton vessel is under construction in Italy and is scheduled for delivery in 2027. Aman at Sea has positioned the ship as an ultra-luxury, small-ship product carrying 94 guests, with itineraries built around marquee coastal destinations, smaller ports that larger ships typically cannot access, and select departures timed to major events such as the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix.
Mediterranean itineraries begin in May 2027, with event-timed sailings
Aman at Sea said Amangati’s first season will center on the Mediterranean, including the Dalmatian Coast, Mediterranean Spain, and the French Riviera. The broader 2027 deployment also includes calls in Italy, Greece, Malta, and Croatia.
Among the early sailings, the company is offering a May 7 to May 13, 2027 voyage from Palma de Mallorca to Nice. The routing includes calls in Menorca, Barcelona, and Palamós in Spain, before continuing to Marseille and Saint-Tropez in France.
Aman at Sea has also highlighted access to smaller destinations described as rarely visited by larger cruise ships, including Beaulieu-sur-Mer. Venice is part of the itinerary program as well, with sailings described as passing notable landmarks in the lagoon and involving tender operations for closer access within the city, including Venice’s Giudecca Canal and Grand Canal.
Hull transfer to Genoa marks shift into the outfitting phase
Aman at Sea recently marked a construction milestone after Amangati’s hull was towed in December from San Giorgio di Nogaro, Italy, to the Port of Genoa on a week-long voyage. The ship is now moored at the T. Mariotti shipyard, where outfitting work is set to continue over the coming months as the project moves toward a planned 2027 delivery.
The project was first announced in early 2023. Aman at Sea is a joint venture between the Aman Group and Cruise Saudi.
Design and capacity: 47 suites, private terraces, and a suite-host model
Aman at Sea said Amangati is designed to accommodate 94 guests across 47 suites ranging from 731 to 3,811 square feet, each with a private terrace. The vessel’s exterior profile and guest accommodations were designed by SINOT Yacht Design, and Italian outfitting firm De Wave Group joined the project in 2023 as part of the team supporting construction and interior outfitting in Genoa.
The company said the name Amangati was selected from a Sanskrit word associated with “peaceful motion.” Aman at Sea has described the onboard aesthetic as aligned with Aman’s design approach, including minimalist styling, full-height windows, and Japanese ryokan influences across the accommodations.
Onboard lineup: wellness-focused spa, dining concepts, and shore-access infrastructure
Aman at Sea has put a strong emphasis on wellness, anchored by a spa spanning 12,817 square feet across two decks. The spa is set to include eight ocean-facing treatment suites, along with a fitness studio, a medical center, a beauty lounge, and a Japanese garden highlighted as a signature feature.
For dining, the ship’s lineup includes four concepts: Mediterranean restaurant Alira, Japanese venues Akari and Hiori, and Aman Grill. Aman at Sea also said in-suite dining will be available at any hour.
Additional public spaces include The Jazz Club, a cinema, and a youth lounge. Aman at Sea said each guest will have a dedicated suite host, and the ship will feature the Selora Marina and Lounge with direct water access and water sports equipment, along with pools and sun-deck spaces.
To support arrivals, departures, and shore excursions, the ship is designed with two helipads and six tenders.
How Aman is positioning Amangati as new luxury yachts enter the market
Aman Group CEO and chairman Vlad Doronin said interest in the new product is not limited to existing Aman customers. “We have received strong interest from our guests, as well as those who have never considered a traditional cruise before,” Doronin said.
Doronin also emphasized a product concept built around space and service rather than conventional cruise positioning. “Amangati is not a cruise ship but a private, refined, and deeply personalized experience,” he said. “Space, privacy, and service define everything we do.”
Amangati will enter a growing segment of high-end small ships. Competing brands such as Four Seasons and Orient Express are preparing to debut luxury yachts, and Doronin has argued that Amangati’s small scale and service model are intended to deliver access and experiences that larger vessels cannot replicate.
Pricing and booking
For the initial season, Aman at Sea said pricing for five-night sailings starts at $38,500 based on double occupancy. Reservations are being taken through Aman at Sea’s booking channels, including via amanatsea.com.
With the ship now in Genoa for outfitting and delivery planned for 2027, the company’s next milestones are the completion of onboard work and final preparations for the first sailings, starting with the May 2027 departures now on sale.
